Truman State Tournament

I just wanted to give a heads up. In about a month, I will host a tournament on Truman's campus in Kirksville, MO. There are about 15 people interested from Truman. Kirksville is about 3 hours from Kansas City and St. Louis, and about 90 mins from Columbia. If enough people are interested, I will post more details Friday.

Hellz ya. I'm all the way from Cape Girardeau area (6 hours south), but I have an uncle that teaches at Truman. I could most definitely attend this tournament - 95% likely. Also, I may be able to bring my 2 crewmembers up there as well.

Alright here we go. Things are starting to get finalized.

Date: Saturday, October 1st
Where: My appartment(directions later) Kirksville, MO
Cost: $10
General rules: 5 stock, 8 minute time limit. No items. Only level banned is Temple. The way i see it, if you know a level which your character has an advantage over another, exploit it. Seeding will be random, most likely drawn from a hat, double elimination. The losers bracket will not be random. It will be set up NCAA style to prevent you from losing to the same person twice in a row. matches will be best of 3, the finals will semis and finals will be best of 5.

First match characters will be written on a notecard, and will be revealed at the same time.
First match will be random. Final destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's story, Fountain of dreams, Dream Land 64, possibly one more.

After the match, winner can choose to change character, then loser can choose to change. Then, the loser will pick the next level. This will be true for both the second, and possibly third.



This is my first time running a real smash tournament, so if you have any suggestions, go ahead. I know it is a long way away, but i want to give you guys some time to prepare. I have room for people to sleep in my appartment. Im looking at about 15-20 people from Truman alone. Not many of them are good here, expecially without items. They're just dead money.

if gas wasn't so ****ed high...... well we'll see when we get closer to the date, anyways you should update the first post with the new info, as well as putting the date in the title of the thread, possibly even making a new tournament thread for this in the tournament room since its not just a smash fest or discussion
