SC/NC Tourney in Florence, SC this Oct.

I will be hosting a tournament in Florence, SC on the 22nd/23rd of October. There are plenty of cheap hotels in the area, but the first few people who contact me are allowed to stay here for free. I'm really not sure how many people are going to show up, but I'm probably going to cap it at around 20. Also, there will be a $5 pot, with the winner of each day getting 60%, 2n'd place getting 30%, and 3rd place getting 10%.

Saturday will just be smashing around with each other until everyone shows up. We will have a FFA tournament on Saturday night with double elimination. Sunday will be the 1v1 tournament starting at about 10:00a.m.

I think you should scrap the FFA tourney tho. Most tourneys do 1v1 and 2v2. And I think teams is more exciting and more fun anyhow. Easier to do double elim with teams than FFA anyway.

Ok than, thanks for the input Yeroc. Saturday night will now be a 2v2 night with the 1v1's on Sunday still. I wasn't sure how many groups and how many individuals would be showing up. So yeah, that will be fine to change the FFA to a 2v2.

If you guys want the $ changed, drop me a line. Seriously. Like I said E-Mail me or AIM me about that. Also message me about the 5 places open for sleeping available at my house if you are interested. Free > Hotel.

There is one thing I'm semi-nervous about... I doubt you guys are idiots.. I've talked to a few of you and what not and you seem like alright guys. But I would like to say that this isn't some kind of block party yah know? It's just getting together, smashing for some cash and over-all just chilling out in my garage. Yah dig? Cool.

Apparenlty some list has been populated at the local EB for names and numbers of people wanting to play in a smash tournament. I might let a few of them stop by.... not for the tourney.. but Saturday during the day... hardy har har.

Perhaps it would be wise if everyone who came brought some sort of food item? That way Weez doesn't have ta pay for food, and we all still have something sexy good to eat!!! Doesn't have ta be big.......Bag'o'chips, Coca Cola bottles.....Etc? I'm sure it would be helpful ^^

Is it going to be 5 dollars to join both the FFA and the 1v1, or 5 dollars to join each? And, have you decided things like available stages, character picking, # of stock, etc.?

I think it's $5 per event. It should be at least.

If you'd like an example tourney ruleset written up, I can provide one. I will also be willing to help with the actual running of the tourney.
