everyone knows about the boomerang/hookshot trick in the certain version of the game that it works, but is it possible to use it for a recovery? is it possible (after you got booted off) if you can throw the boomerang away from the stage, then (because you no longer have the boomerang) fake throw it towards the stage (turning you around) then hookshot the stage and still get it to work? or would this take too long and make you fall to the abyss. im in school so i cant try it right now :dizzy:

You'd have fallen too low by the time you hookshot... and if you were knocked off you DEFINETLY would not have enough time to pull this off. You barely have enough time to do it if you just jump off yourself. Now imagine trying it if you got shined. :psycho:

This seems like it would be impossible to do. Besides, why waste time doing this when you could just use your 2nd jump, aerial-dodge upward, and then hookshot? Or, you could just do a double bomb jump recovery (if you're good with the Bomb Tech.) If not, go to Google and do a video search for the video Linkology. That will show you how to use the bomb tech to your advantage.

Too much work for so little payoff. For one, you dont know how far you are gonna be thrown. If you are too far away from the stage you wil just make yourself look like a fool trying to pull it off. The only way you are going to be able to do this is if you are a few short feet away from the stage anyway. Secondly, by the time you throw the boomerang and fake throw to the stage, chances are you will fall to your death or hang by a thread. IF you DO happen to hang by that little bit, your boomerang is probably going to disappear before it even hits you. Thirdly, if some miracle occurs and you actually pull it off, the only thing you will accomplish will probably be, if any, 1 or 2 bombs to the enemy's skull and probably a good round of juggling. In my opinion, Link/Young Link has one of the best vertical recoveries against ledge-guarders. My tip is to do the standard Up-B recovery. If your attempt fails, simple grab onto the edge, drop down, and repeat until you get a reasonable result (but not repeat enough as to have them catch on). Of course, this doesnt apply to EVERY character, but for the most part, you should stick to a standard Up-B or hookshot (or a combination thereof). It might look flashy doing a Superjump, but there is no payoff.
