Falco's LHDL

As when Falco jumps off the ledge, and fires two lasers in quick succesion before landing back on the stage.

I'm able to get off one laser, but I can never fit two in. Any suggestions on how to make this happen?

This is the way I do it: Change your controller grip from the regular style (where you operate the right side of the controller with your thumb) to a style where you operate the right side with your middle and index finger. Leave the left side grip as is. The index finger of your right hand should be used for the laser (B) and the middle finger for jump (X/Y).

Drop from the ledge, jump using your middle finger and fire your laser using your index finger and you should master it within a half hour.

Better to jump with the control stick. Changing controller styles mid-battle is risky, especially if it's just to do one trick.

The key is to do it fast. You can fire the first laser at most 7 frames after jumping, for both to connect against a tall opponent.

After fiddling with it for an hour, I can hit a Pichu with both shots half the time, and often right after a fancy edge grab (stick wavedash from reflector, shortened Phantasm, or Fire Bird right at the edge).

I read those, but they didn't go into much detail about Falco's LHDL. The only one detailed enough was Nigzel's Blaster guide. I'm not a noob...

yea but the ledge hop double laser is just like, hang on ledge, hit down, then jump really fast, and after you hit the jump button immedietly spam the blaster button, thats the simplest way hehe

If you can't BE that fast do it the easy way......

1.Hang on the edge.
2.Shine
3.Immediatly jump cancel the shine by tapping up the joystick.
4.Spam the B button while DI'ing to the stage.
5.Great for Fox's LHTL
If you can't do it this way, I recomend you to shoot yourself lol;)

heh, i dont get how people get it so low. when i do it, my first laser goes over my oppenent (let's say...ganondorf). do people jump lower or do they fast fall?? >.>

Using control stick is probably even more riskier, unless of course you mastered that way. I always tend to fire bird if I use control stick. And foxandfalco, the transition from jump to laser must be very very short and quick, which is why index and middle works best IMO.

you have to switch your hands back afterwards costing you time. just learn to be fast enough with the indexf...

hmm... maybe you should wait to jump just a little longer and hit the b button sooner. I think it might be a combination of those things, but I am not sure. I love your sig by the way.

from the looks of it F&F your using y to jump (I'm assuming this because when i used y mine looked the exact same way) well anyway now I use the control stick and what i do is immediatly tap down then up on the stick then spam the b button and that should do it. I'd show you but I don't know how to hook up my digital camera to the computer:(, usually we use our friends camera

the thing is, i short hop double laser with fox easily with y, and this ledge hop laser is reallly pissing me off lol

jump lower.
using the control stick could screw you up many times.
DONT USE THE CONTROL STIC
instead, use y, but jump a little lower and spam the B button. You will get 2 lasers.
but you gotta practice. Just jump lower. No need to change to the crappiest method alive of usigthe control stick. It wont get you anywhere.

I would just like to say that people use what works for them. In fact I heard isai uses the control stick to do quite a few things. Just to let you know you can do the lhdl with the y/x button. From the video it is obvious that you haven't changed your time for anything. Not changing anything will of course get you the same results (I am pretty sure you know this). This can be hard because of muscle memory. If by jump a little lower you mean jump later then I believe you would be correct nurok. All characters use their full hop when they are in the air.
