my next step (?)

i am currently a falco user, and i'm new to the forum. i am just starting to make the move from intermediate to advanced, and i need to know what i should do next...

about me:
-i can wavedash left consistently, but not right (although i don't really use either unless i am thinking consciously about using it)...
-i use falco's spike and illusion well if i am spiking people off the level
-i can SHL forward consistently, but not backwards
-i can do SHFFLed nairs decently, but no other aerials...

what do you suggest as my next step? SHL backwards? SHFFLing different aerials? combos? any help is appreciated.

shffl dair into shine shouldn't be hard to learn from your current level, and oh man, will it improve your falco.

PILLARING! (shuffle n-air, shine, repeat). abusing pillar and SHL (back and forth) = decent falco

any ideas for learning how to wavedash right? i use L for wavedash left, maybe using R will help me do it right... i guess it's just practice...

Learn to Washshine, pillar, repeat... I was in the same situation about 3 weeks ago.. Just work alot on improving your shining (double shine) and your wavedash. Falco's is mad good due to it's length. Also, whenever your not attacking you should be SHLing... also, make sure you can "cheap shot" from the legde, and are able to double lazer from the ledge

yeah i figured, but i have ****ed up tendons in my left hand (bball), so my forefinger bends whenever my thumb does (but not vice versa) and that ****s it up... so i am gonna try it with R when i go right

One of the most important things is L-caneling into a shine. It will improve your game a lot and set you up for a lot of nice combo's. Try to mix your combos up a bit. For example L-cancel shine then hit your flyin opponent with a nair or use a bair...just mix it up a bit. If you have any questions just let me know. :lick:

yea, work on l-cancelling into shines, and I know it isn't falco specific, but you should learn how to DI right. Read the DI guide in the stickied thread of falco guides, it's so much more important than you might expect. You said you don't WD in game, you should really make a conscious effort to start working it into your game. Try to use it at least once per life, and then go from there. When your opponent comes in for an attack, WD back, and then dash in with a shffl'ed attack. Maybe post a vid and we can comment better.

I agree with foxandfalco, you should try the pillar. Of course, try L-canceling like kamikaze said it will improve your game a lot. About the backwards SHL, just tilt the stick a little bit to the other direction at least that works for me.
