Possible new attack?

OK we all saw Pit turn his bow into two individual daggers, as well as samus using her blaster as a beam sword (for lack of a better name), So wouldnt it be possible for SSBB to feature a new tactic like switching weapons?
From SSB to SSBM they added the dodge/midair dodge, wall jump etc.
SO it wouldnt be too farfetched to introduce a new tactic such as this.

I told my friend this idea and he said it would take away the simplicity of Smash. I still like the idea though. It would add a lot more variety and strategy.

You misinterpreted the trailer. Pit has two weapons, his bow for projectiles, which breaks into dual blades for melee attacks.

Zamus (Zero Suit Samus) is a separate character from Samus, so of course she has a different weapon.
