switch ice climber control?

I was talking to a friend and he said that there is some way to switch between witch IC you control. i.e. you hit some sequence of buttons and then you control nana instead of popo. I think this could be useful to do when you kill your opponent and hope he doesn't notice, then when he comes back he would be trying to kill the wrong one. Anybody know about this?

I think you are referring to desynching. There's a great thread on it at the top of the page that goes over what it is, and gives you how to do it, and the basics. Also, in the thread there is a video guide by nealdt that gives visual reinforcement of what is in the Desynch guide.

I though desychning was when you seperate the 2 intentionally to set up different combos and such. I am talking about a way to switch control over to nana, so that your main IC is nana instead of the normal popo. this could be false, but my friend said he heard it so I wanted to see.

you could change the costume so nana is the main ice climber you control. Maybe that is what your friend is talking about?

There is no way to change control from one Ice climber to another. Desynching or a costume change is the closest you can get. Your friend is either lying or is sorely missinformed. Unless of course there is some crazy glitch that nobody knows about, but that is very unlikely.
