The 3D games up until Secret Rings were bad but i still liked them them...Why exactly?

At first,I really didn't want him. You know with the whole rivalry thing,and that until the secret ring came out, he really hadn't had a good came. Now,it seems like a good choice,hes a pary character,and hes STILL topping every single character poll! He's had insane poluarity for years,and he could have a good moveset. I just hope Sonic is the ONLY Sega character in,that they don't make him too fast,because he'll probably zip off the ledge of an arena within seconds.

Sonic Battle wan't that good. In fact, the only Sonic game worth a look since Adventure on DC was Rush.

...And maybe Secret Rings.

Koarin: People (and me, kind of but not really) don't want Sonic in because over the last ten years, the only people who've bought his games are idiot 13 year old boys who think Sonic is "t3h hax" and Sonic nerds who think Sonic is "t3h epic win". Basically, his games suck, and all of his tagalongs and plotlines have somehow managed to get more and more ridiculaous and badly written with each new game. But the Genesis games rock, so I vote 'for'.

EDIT - And added to that are people like me who feel terrifically betrayed by Sonic Team for turning the blue blur from a cool hero to a "XTREME-AIRSURFING-KILL-THE-BLACK-ALIENS-****-****-SHADOW-ANGST" idiot.

The newer maybe outclassed by the old games, but the xbox360 sonic makes you overlook the other ones. The sonic advance games were good and also sonic heroes was not too bad. Sure, shadow, riders and that new xbox one suck horribly, but the other ones are not that bad. In fact, most of the criticisms I have seen for the sonic advance series, (also the wii one) are just OGM IT R SO FUXING HARD. But really how does that make those games bad? I'm not saying sonic games have been great or even fine over the years, but there still have been some good games. I have plenty of problems with the way sonic was going, but people over-do the ranting of a few sonic games by saying they all suck. Like Sonic adventure DX, it was criticised because it was more of a port than a bundle of super special features. Ok, it was just a port, but that doesnt make it any worse than the original. No one is saying that the pokemon should be excluded from brawl because all of the pokemon games excluding the gba ones suck.

Yea I really disliked heroes too but apparently some people didnt think it was bad. But I dont really remember what was so horrid about SA2 besides the whole knuckles and tails thing; But SA1 had that too in a sense. Then again, its been awhile since I played that game so I prbably wouldn't know what was bad about it.

DX was real good, but Chief is right it, Sonic in DX failed to compare to Mario in Super Mario Sunshine. I really like the old school Sonic games (especially 3), as well as SA 1 & 2 (and DX).

I can't agree with Chief more in that Pokemon disappoints less than Sonic. Look at the sales records, Pokemon is th #2 selling franchise of all-time, while Sonic is #9. Sonic has also been since 1991, and Pokemon ahs been around since 1996 (well in Japan at least, it has been in North America and Europe since 1998).

I mean, Sonic has sold real well, but Pokemon is a multibillion dollar franchise=amazing!
Looking at the numbers of units sold, Pokemon has sold 155 million units, and Sonic the hedgehog with 44 million units. Those stats with the Pokemon series shows there was little room for error (other than Collesium and Mystery Dungeon), and the stats on Pokemon is nearly unbelievable while Sonic sales are nothing short of impressive.

That type of bitter and epic rivalry is perfectly fit for SSBB! Ya, the rivalry between Mario and Sonic is perfect for Brawl, plus considering Sonic is not just the most desired 3rd party character, but the most desired character period. Also add the fact Sonic and Mario are in a game together and you get the picture. He is in it, as long as Sega isn't stupid, and at the next E3 we should expect to get a new Brawl trailer, with Sonic possibly.

As much as I hate to admit it, Sonic + Smash would sell even more than usual. I hate to say it because the reason it'd sell so well is because of all the idiots who gave SEGA profit off of Shadow the Hedgehog. Despite the lower quality of the games as compared to his 2D excursions, they still sell well...I don't know if that's just a devoted fanbase, or idiots who think Sonic's new image is cool.

But I dont really remember what was so horrid about SA2 besides the whole knuckles and tails thing; But SA1 had that too in a sense.SA1 had that, but it wasn't required; you could just play as Sonic, or just as...well, Sonic. In the sequel, they forced you to play as Knuckles with his stupid fetch-quests, and then Tails who for some reason piloted a giant, inhibiting robot. Then they went and doubled the pain by dropping Tails' controls on Dr. Robotnik and forcing you to play the same **** level over again.

And then, there's Shadow...yeah.

wait i had a thought if they are making Mario and Sonic go to the olympics what if thats the only game they might be together in and not brawl just so consumers wouldnt be mad if they knew if Sonic wasnt in Brawl because the Olympic game was around the corner??? just a thought so dont flame or stuff

O but i thought again they might actually put Sonic in Brawl because of how desperately SEGA needs it i think cause wow Sonic for PS3 and 360 sucked Secret rings was alright but the Music and some gameplay were awful so they might go along with Sonic in brawl it would be like advertising Sonic in a way. Sucks that most Sonics next gen games sucked cause he a mascot for a whole Team. What do you think
