so, I'm gonna put this forward

Okay, so Sakurai post the update which says that Sonic is in Brawl. the boards lag with the joy of 2/3s of the boards, and the possible out rage of the remaining 1/3. but then Sakurai comes back to us, and plainly say
"Look guys, I know you're happy about this, and I am too, so I'm gonn make a deal with you. I need you to pick a new stage, item and Assist Trophy that is associated with Sonic in anyway shape or form, as long as they have made an appearance on a nintendo console."

which stage would you pick and why

and what character or object would you have as an assist trophy and why

and what item would you have and why?

Thank you....thank you....you've given us something to talk about...

Stage: Green Hill Zone from Sonic 1.
Reason: Nostalgia alone will make me cream myself.

Item: Fire Sheild from Sonic 3.
Reason: I like the electric shield, but fire shield is second coolest.

Assist Trophy: Dr. Robotnik or Knuckles
Reason: Cuz Tails can suck it. j/k.

Heres my ideas on the 3:

Stage:

The dotted section would be the ground, of course with green grass and checkered brown on the side. The two rectangle-ish figures would be platforms, but instead of hovering like most stages, they'd be hills that you could jump on. Same look as the floor. Double jumping would be necessary to land on the hills to fight, and hitting down would take you back to ground level. Of course palm trees in the background with clouds in the blue sky, and shimmering water as well.

Hazards for the stage could be badniks, like the bee, who would fly towards a certain point in the screen, pause, then fire a volley of yellow blasts. Or, you could have those ladybug-looking robots roll by on the ground level, forcing the players to jump to the hills. Hitting either badnik would of course, cause them to explode and little forest creatures come flying out and hop away.

The Fire Sheild would protect against one physical attack. When you double jump, fire engulfs your character, and damages those who touch it. Similar to the fire fox, but with the double jump.

Dr. Robotnik would spawn in inside his little aircraft from the old Sonic games, the boulder attatched to the chain (as in Sonic's first boss on Sonic 1) would slowly appear, and for a few moments, Robotnik would swing it back and forth around the screen, hitting anyone who touches the boulder.

Knuckles could appear, wind up a punch for a few moments, then punch at the ground. It could either:

1. Act like the POW sign in the first Smash Brothers, knocking anyone touching any floor upwards.

or

2. Create a shockwave that moves to the sides of Knuckles, and injures anyone who touches the wave.

Knuckles could be stopped if hit a couple of times, and would fall off the level like he does when he dies in Sonic & Knuckles.

stage: sky sanctuary zone because that was one of my favorite courses from Sonic3&K...
the music was cool and im sure the folks composing the music for Brawl would make it sound awesome...
if not sky sanctuary zone...
then collision chaos from Sonic CD...
the bumpers in that course were cool and a Brawl couse that consists mostly of bumpers would be sweet...
AT: tails in the tornado...
no particular reason...
item: the fire shiel from Sonic3&K because that thing was sweet...
and it woud be kinda cool if there was an item in Brawl that made players impervious to damage from fire attacks...

Item: Speed shoes

AT: Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, it would only be fair

Stage: Green Hill Zone, Casino, Ice cap, I love those stages.

And Joe Soup to answer your question: Yes we are putting Mario characters in. Only because of Mario & Sonic at the Olymic Games. So no Darth Vader or Rambo, though the only exception is SiD, who is God. No can deny god a spot!

Do you honestly expect not to get flamed after posting something like that on a Sonic thread, if you do you diserve to be flamed.

Anyway I think greenhill zone would be the obvious choice for a Sonic stage, it is the epitome of classic Sonic.Tails or Knuckles for an assist trophy, and any of the shields that protect sonic from damge would be good for an item .

Agree 100%. Remember that Sonic isn't only a video game character. he has been a comic book character, a cartoon character, and even a parade balloon. Sonic will stay popular because of his cross-exixting sub universes. As you can see the comic has a WAY different plot from the games. Oh and NRWC, i have set up a character representation clan sort of, permission from Del Money. Think you could choose a character for you to be. It is just fun to do. (psst... I'm Mario because of M&SatOG).
