Is the series maybe moving away toward the idea of Master hand and stuff because i would think maybe they would show Masterhand on the video or something, maybe now theres a new bad guy, you remember that giant castle theyr fighting ontop of in the video? maybe theres a new Enemy or something, but i dont know, i was just wondering...
I really hope they show a little more about the game, i dont really mind more characters but more of is it just a super Brawl betwen the characters or maybe thereis a story, well Maybe Metaknight has to do with it, or maybe not... :ohwell:

Well, there's no reason to expect to see Master Hand in the trailer. He didn't appear in Melee's trailer:

I think he'll probably be back. Possibly more minor of a boss even than in Melee (where I think Giga Bowser is considered the game's "true" final boss). But I think he'll show up in some way, shape, or form.

How can you move away from the concept of the master hand? He shows up once or twice the entire game...
I never really thought of him as a major player in the game

This isn't "exactly" on topic, but its some food for thought. In Soul Calibur 3 the final boss, Abyss, was a selectable character. Maybe the Master Hand will become a usable character in Brawl?
McFox

Don't count on it.
Also, Abyss wasn't the "true" final boss. The true final boss, Night Terror, was not playable.

But Night Terror was really similar to Nightmare, other than a few special attacks. Same thing could work for Master Hand.

Do you actually think Master Hand will be playable because a bosslike character was playable in Soul Calibur III?
Sakurai has just recently said that there isn't a ton of room for new characters. I seriously doubt that Master Hand will even be considered for a playable character.

Maybe he's already in? Who knows? They could greatly downgrade him to the other character's sizes and skills. I mean with debug mode you could use him, even in SSB64. I guess we'll have to wait to find out, but I'm not going to enforce the idea cause I really wouldn't mind either way.
Thats about it for now....

The other interesting point is whether Master Hand is going to have a basic character move list, or a wierd move list like in Melee. In the original Smash, his moves were controlled by the basic controls. In Melee, however, he uses the D-Pad instead(as does Crazy Hand). It's hard to say what'll happen, but the only way he WOULD be playable is if he used the basic controls(Up A, etc.)
Though you could use GameShark to play as Master Hand in the original Smash, only a few moves required Final Destination to use, making him almost playable(the HP thing being the difficult point) In Melee, though, his HP made no difference, and since they never fixed that, he's not even useable in a normal game of Smash.(Unlike Giga Bowser and the Wire Frames)
But getting to the point...will he return? I say yes. He, Crazy Hand, and Giga Bowser are all popular true bosses that deserve to be in. Only GB doesn't truly scream Smash(as in controlling dolls/trophies), but being an incarnation of Bowser, the second main Nintendo boss(first being DK, respectively), his chances of being discluded are highly improbable. I think all 3 will make it, and either atleast 1 new major boss, or possible a fusion of the 3.(Giga Bowser puts Master Hand and Crazy Hand on his fists, creating a nice, easy to work with boss.)
That's my jist of it, and I do think MH will indefinately return. Why would they get rid of the original main boss of Smash?(and in all technicalities, the main character)

So how would you be able to "Knock away" Master hand? Would he instead default to Stamina like in his boss form? Wouldn't that make him be at an incredible disadvantage/advantage depending on circumstances?
Ronike

Master Hand will not be a playable character for on important reason, he can't get knocked off! They also won't do him with stamina in all modes because that would be too much of a pain. Plus he doesn't work well on just about every level but final destination. Just ask anyone who has played as him using an AR. It just won't happen w/o AR

No master hand means no super smash brothers.
seriously, he may not be the true final boss, but he'll remain a boss of some sort. always.

Couldn't master hand just float at the bottom of the stage where no one could get to him? He will definately not be a character. I wont even miss him as a boss. I found a level nine Doc to be harder than him.

Yeh I think nintendo will have to be "politically" correct by putting in Lady Hand or something like that. I doubt that they'll remove the huge white glove and his twin as well...

Just because Master Hand wasn't on the trailer, or any trailer for that matter, means nothing. Although this games trailer made it seem as if Meta Knight will be the bad guy, and he probably will, but the game still needs a final boss. Meta Knight wouldn't make that considering he's just a regular player. So they either need Giga Bowser again, or Master Hand.
Frankly I'm sick of Master Hand. First game I thought he was stupid, second game I liked him almost as much as Giga Boswer for some reason. But he used mostly the same moves in both games. Frankly they either need to replace him all together, or give him a bit more, like both hands, with two feet maybe?

Perhaps Master Hand could work if he was shrunk and forced to work like main characters. Walking/Running on index and middle finger, acting like a character influenced by gravity, but also defying these restrictions for special moves to an extent. of course this would completely change how he would work, but could be cool. Perhaps:
Up B - Takeoff (recovery) - Open palm to and rotate thrusting upwards.
Smash B - Gunshot - lean back, clench fist, extend thumb and index, then fire.
Down B - Fist of the Gods - Close fist, fist expands slightly, facing downwards plummits like a ground pound style move
Neutral B - Flick - Flick finger to send character flying. Hold to charge for greater damage and knockback.
A attacks would consist of flicking forward index or middle like a kick, punchig with the thumb, ect.

They wouldn't dare take away the Master Hand, would they?
Super Smash Bros. = Master Hand
Super Smash Bros. Melee = Master Hand + Crazy Hand
Super Smash Bros. Brawl = Master Hand + Crazy Hand + Crazy Foot!!!
Y'never know.

No. All wrong.

Do you really think he would be removed? He is the Psycho kid that uses his dolls to play and give them magic so they can move. And here we are, controlling those dolls.

FINALLY. Someone said it.
Master Hand is what controlls the characters -- as they are essentially just dolls. The concept behind the Super Smash Brothers series is, all the characters are dolls, and all the maps are basic house-hold items. However, using ones imagination turns the dolls into living beings, and the house-hold items into 'maps.'
So, essentially, getting rid of Master Hand is really just killing the story (or lack there of) of Super Smash Brothers.
Edit: For those of you thinking, "Well, why did the dolls fight the hand then?" If you watch little kids playing with dolls/action figures/whatever, the hand is the ultimate enemy. Watch when the kid does explosions and what not, the hands go wild. :D

Mickey has 3 fingers and a thumb, Master Hand has 4 fingers and a thumb.
He's not going to be a playable character without something like AR, and I highly doubt he'll be removed.

You know, that makes a very playable movelist.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl = Master Hand + Crazy Hand + Master Foot + Crazy Foot.Okay sure, add all this crazy stuff in, theres no way you can win from a giant foot. I Really doubt he will be gone but it would be nice to see another diffrent kind of enemy and not a flying hand.

I assume Giga Bowser and Ganon will be teh Bows and teh Dorf' special moves.
I guess we could unlock "Master Hand Jr." which would be a smaller version of Master Hand.

I certainly wouldn't mind Master Hand being taken out because the hands are so easy. But the story is sorta like a kid playing with little Nintendo toys [hence the hands], so I don't think it will happen.
Also, the castle is from Fire Emblem Path of Radiance.

Yes, this is right. If you ever played the original SSB and watch the beginning, it shows masterhand picking up a random character who moves like a stuffed doll and gets up and strike a pose. After this it shows a bunch of random characters in their gaming environments.
Also, Master Hand makes sense as a boss because the point of SSBB is to have a bunch of different characters battle it out(obviously), so what would be the fun in fighting an enemy from one game instead of just fighting a new one made specifically for this one?

Master hand well yeah I expect they'll keep him, but I reckon differently when I was younger and played with toys the hand was never the main enemy, I reckon the master hand tries to come and put the toys back but they rebel and fight back and then (OBVIOUSLY) kill the child and go on a rampage throughout the world (OBVIOUSLY)
OR, my other theory is that the master hand (judging by the voice doing the laugh) is some old perverted man come to molest the small innocent living toys but didn't expect them to fight back. Crazy hand is a drug dealer in this sense

Speaking of Glover, whatever happened to him? I thought he was having a sequel a while ago and it got cancelled. Wasn't he also owned by Rare too?

It's a wonder why Glover isn't terribly obscure, there was nothing that made it stand out back in 1998 and even less now.
BOT...Master Hand stays. He's very much a part of the series. With Crazy Hand, though, I'm having a hard time figuring out how they could amp him up this time. A head, maybe?
If I had the choice of secondary boss in Brawl, I would choose Shadow Nightmares from Link's Awakening. He could have stock like the normal characters, and for every stock he would transform into a super-powered version of another character, depending on who you play as(so, if you play as Link, he would turn into Zelda/Sheik, then Link, then Ganondorf.)
