Do you hope... (Conserning items)

That instead of useing the attack button to use items, that we can use a different button? For example...

If I was playing as Meta Knight, and the Laser Blaster gun popped up. I would want to carry it around (mainly for style), and just attack normally, and save the gun for different uses, like smashing the enemy out of the arena, and then blasting him with the Laser gun, or hold a Bob-omb, spike the enemy into the ground, followed by tossing the Bob-omb onto the enemy, to blast him from that ground.

This would let us use invitive ways to use the items differently instead of the same old ways. This doesn't count for stars, bunny ears, or anything like that, just carrying items.

Or would you rather do it the same old way by pressing the attack button to use the items?

You can still do the things you mentioned with relitave ease, youve just got to be creative and have good timing
imo the game would be fine with using the attack button, but for characters like link, he would be holding his sword, a gun, and oh snap here comes the boomerang!! It would be kinda hard to do that with only 2 hands
Maybe all the characters should gain an appendage go make a topic about that [lol]

You got to remember he carries many things at once anyway. Don't forget his shield. All he would need to do to make that work is hold the gun, bob-omb, fire flower, etc. with his right hand, attack with his sword in his left.

And they can still punch while holding the weapon is what I mean.
