A-kon: Dallas, Texas June 9th-11th.

I saw a thread for an anime convention...so I thought I'd go ahead and post this in here. Ha! Anyway...yea, as the topic suggest, there is gonna' be an anime convention in Dallas June 9th-11th. The website www.a-kon.com (I can give links...right? >_>) will give you more info on stuff. The pre-registration is closed, but you can register the night before or the morning of...not too sure. Also, the hotel that is holding the convention is booked, or something like that. The website will give ya the details. I know it's kinda' short notice and all. I wonder if there is anyone outside of TN that will be going.

Also...there use to be a gaming room, but apparently the sponsor sold out or something so I'm not sure about a Smash tournament. I'm trying to find out, but if there isn't one, I'm just thinking about holding one in the room I'll be staying at, and I'm sure the others wouldn't mind...but don't hold me to that. Anyway, hope to meet some of you there.

Fun Fact: A-kon was the beginning of the Dkrew. Without A-kon, the likes of CORY, Kenshin, Silas Elias, and Scav would never have met each other.

Fun fact: Akon is the most smash tournament EVER. And Bahamut speaks the truth. It's the birthplace of Moast.

Another fun fact: This belongs in the Southwest regional room.

Fun Fact number 3: I came to smashboards because at Akon in 2002, a skinny guy named Cory was running around in a wifebeater shirt with WWW.SMASHBOARDS.COM written on the back. The url stuck out in my mind, especially after he owned me with Marth.

Keep an eye out for me at Akon. I'll be the short, skinny guy with shaggy dark hair who's yelling stuff about Smash tournaments. We might be holding a Naruto tournament as well.

Oh, if you can't find me that way, I'll be playing either green mario or green fox.

Though in previous years, the Game room hasn't allowed people to use their own hardware and controllers. Not sure that's how it is this year, but just a warning.

Oh man, yesterday while playing Starcraft these two anime fanatics entered my game and they were so freakin' obnoxious. They kept going on and on about Vash and how they loved Vash and kawaii and ^^ and <3 and other such nonsense. And then they started promoting Ragnarok Online (go figure).

I said: "Shut up. Spike > Vash"

And also: "RO? I should give it another try.."

...okay, so I'm an anime fan, too. I just don't make it ABUNDANTLY CLEAR with every single thing I say! ARGH. And certainly not enough to go to anime conventions. Fanatics, quite frankly, scare me.

But for Smash's sake? Hell, I wish I was in the area... =P

Kintaro is my hero. Yes, I know what he's from. Anyway, I will be there hanging with all the cool people (ie D-Krew past and present) and I will be playing a lot of smash and Naruto GNT4. I know we've talked on aim already as well. I'm looking forward to this a lot. :grin:

Kintaro is a great role model for us all! I bought a little black notebook and I've worked quite a few random jobs lately. Sadly, I don't own a bike, but I do plan to move around the around the country/world every two years as soon as I graduate from college! Next stop: Chicago!

Okay, so it's only an hour and a half East, but I want to live in the big city, and that seems like a good start. =P

Oh man, I was thinking about posting a topic on akon. I am glad that there is still going to be smash as akon seeing as how the gamestop room wont be there. I am in the same crew as Fizz, hence the same banner. We will be with 2/3 others from our crew also. I will be the guy with long, bright red hair. We will try and find you guys and get some smashing in. Should be great to play some TX guys. See everyone there.
