I don't think Dedede should be included because kirby wouldn't be able to eat him... Just like in the other Kirby games... I think Gooey or Rick Have better chances than him.. For those who dont know they are also in kirby games... Gooey is sort of like a side kisck and Rick is like... Well i don't entirely know much about Rick but he has just as good chance as Dedede and Gooey...

If I'm not mistaken, Kirby couldn't swallow Meta Knight either, yet there he is, in the game. Chances are Sakurai would just overlook that little detail.

Due to him being a unique character, so many people wanting him in and having good reasons, he wouldn't be a wasted spot to you unless you can't accept other's opinions.

Hmmm well to be honest hearing rumors that Roy or Marth may not return are annoying, I'd say since they were so great in Melee that they deserve spots over King Dedede, IMO.

Edit: if we are talking about new peeps though then I'd say I wanna see Sonic in over him no matter how unlikely that may be lol, hes got a btter design and cooler moves to me.

I dunno about if he was planned for SSBM but I do know he was the top most requested character for SSBM (of those that didn't get into SSBM and haven't been announced for SSBB) and, at the end of this poll, Mr. Sakurai commented that he was planned for SSB (along with Bowser and Mewtwo and other top requested characters) but didn't make it.

This, combined with Mr. Sakurai's apparently lessened modesty due to Meta Knight's inclusion and apparent importance in Subspace Emissary as well as King Dedede appearing in more of the posted letters on the Contribution Fist than any other character, makes me think King Dedede's chances are rather decent.

Yeah, he was actually planned for SSB64, but they didn't have time. Same with Peach and Bowser (supposed to be in 64). He wasn't in Melee because Sakurai is just too darn humble to support his own series. He's been the most supported character for Melee and Brawl.

Yes he deserves to be in more than just about anyone (including Marth, and especially Roy because Roy isn't important to the FE series at all). Dedede has been there all along in the Kirby series. While he does share some of Kirby's traits (a result of being apart of the Dreamland/Pop Star community) he comes with many of his own unique moves.

In addition all ALL of this, he bring to the table more personality than all of the Brawl hopefuls combined. I don't say this to exaggerate. Combine all of the personality that all of the primary candidates for Brawl have...Dedede has way more than that.

And I don't say all of this because I want him in so bad or anything. In truth, I want Ridley in more than Dedede, but the fact remains, he has a better chance of getting in than anyone. It doesn't matter if I support him or not; it doesn't matter if anyone here supports him or not...He will be in...100% confident he will be in.

Dedede is one of the most wanted (if he is not) so he deserves a spot in brawl and is moveset would be cool.

I agree with grim, he has a lot of personality and im sure he was requested for the 64 and Melee Smashes.

I disagree. It doesn't fit him at all. Dedede would grab you and beat you with his hammer or fins at least. What would his grab attack be? Chewing on your like Yoshi? That doesn't sound very...Dedede-like. I dunno, I'm not a fan of it. I'd rather him use his mallet as a grab attack...

Oh! And here's something interesting: "Kirby can even throw the hammer at an enemy; only this causes him to lose his hammer." I totally forgot about that, but it really makes my >B move for Dedede a lot more plausible...
