I aologize if a thread like this has been made. I can not find one similar to this.

For Smash Bros. Brawl, should every game franchise represented in the game have its arch-enemy in the roster? The Mario franchise has Bowser, the Zelda franchise has Ganondorf, Pokemon has Mewtwo, and the Kirby franchise has Meta-Knight. Every game franchise should have its arch-enemy representative, if applicable.

It seems the problem with this is coming up with movesets for some of the arch-enemies (like Andross from Star Fox). I like this idea because arch-enemies are just as important as characters and to the history of the franchises as the main protagonists are.

A list of arch-enemies from the franchises:

Mario: Bowser, Wart
Metroid: Ridley, Kraid
Earthbound: Pokey Minch
Kirby: King Dedede, Meta-Knight
Donkey Kong: King K. Rool
Star Fox: Andross
F-Zero: Samurai Goroh, Black Shadow

Don't double post. Use the edit button.

Wolf would make a better Smash character than Andross if you want a StarFox enemy.

The enemy from Star Fox would be Star Wolf...Wolf would make a better Smash character than Andross if you want a StarFox enemy. :urg: Beat me to it.

Wouldn't Star Wolf have a similar moveset as Fox though. =/

Maybe, but he doesn't have to. For one, I would see him being quite a bit stronger and heavier than Fox. They could probably replace the Foreward-B with something more Wolf-like and change the properties of the Blaster, Or he might have an entirely new move set. The sky's the limit.

Personally, I'm wanting to see General Scales more than Wolf...but that's just my opinion.

It is actually a kind of biased opinion though. My first Star Fox game was Adventures. I have never played any of the original Star Fox games, so I wouldn't know the the history between the two of them other than the hero/villian relationship.

I also feel that Krystal () will be included into the game due to her popularity from Adventures and her complete originality as far as a moveset goes, but that is a discussion for a different topic.

There's no way in the world that GS could be turned into a Fox clone and this is really my main reason for him instead of Wolf or Andrew.

Ferro, I said this in the General Scales thread:

Scales has absolutely no moves to pull from as attacks. Furthermore, he's not that prominent a villain, and he's got virtually nothing else going for him. He'd be lucky to have a trophy in this game. I'd rather wait and see if Nintendo wants to use him again in another Starfox game before considering him a Smash candidate.

And Krystal is more likely to be playable since she's been in two games now with a third appearance planned for Starfox DS/Commando if I'm told right.

Back on topic: I can think of one other guy from the Mother series that would work as an arch-enemy other than Pokey but I won't spoil who it is. But I could go with Pokey for an alternative. Thing is, his villain roles in the franchise both deal with him in mechs. Yes I said roles! He's certifiably back in Mother 3, but as an old man who has to use a life-support system type machine with weapons. Don't know how he'd work outside of his mechs and they're pretty flipping big! Maybe if they decide on boss characters...

I'd prefer Deathborn over Black Shadow and Samurai Goroh. I know Goroh's got that "I'm Falcon's arch nemesis" thing going on but doesn't he have a sword? I think we have enough sword users. And Black Shadow isn't very........villainous as far as evil F-Zero candidates go.

I wish people would stop with Ridley though. We have a whole bunch of villains from Hunters we could use, mind telling me what's wrong with them? Ridley, to me, seems like a fusion of Metaknight and Bowser.

I believe Sakurai's poll has listings for the Black Knight from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. I see no reason for him not to appear. He's got a lot of cool moves after all.

Thing is, not every single franchise covered so far in Melee has an arch enemy. Ice Climbers has, what, an albatross that looks like a pteradactyl? Wouldn't work. Mr. Game & Watch HAS no arch enemies. And as far as pulling guys from Kid Icarus go in correspondance with Pit, the Eggplant Wizard is a drone, I doubt he can't be of any use. And correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Kid Icarus version Medusa just a head attached to a wall?

Samuri Goh has a sword. C.falcon has a gun. Fair fight...

Those hunters have only been in one game: MP:H. Ridley has been a enemy in 50% of ALL Metroid games.

Pokey Minch would be great! put him on his spider Mech, and you have a relly unique character for Brawl...

and you could have Cactus King as DK nemesis (runs fron DonkeKongjungleviners)
