should you be quick enough to notice and wavedash out of the shine to continue to combo?

because when i pillar to get a shine in, i usually jump out of the shine and am unable to continue to combo.

does this happen to you guys?

Wavedashing is usually better, unless the person you're playing is a nub.

Because if you wavedash, you can wavedash towards them if they bounce off the shine at an angle left/right. And if they do go straight up, you can jump up to them before they can do anything anyway, usually. Plus it looks cooler, and if they shield, you can waveshine their shield until they retreat or it hits them.

Nah its too hard to notice if the person is shielding and you hit them anyways. Just switch it up. Waveshine sometimes and try to pillar other times. You should a back up plan if one hits or misses unexpectedly and should be able to react it time. i.e. when you hit a shine unexpectedly and were in the process of waveshining just jump and bair or try and finish the spike shine combo.

easy, do what dope, vipeboy, flowin, and pyro do.
pillar, then jump towards the oppenent once they're hit. aerial jump canceled shine + d-air or b-air (quickly)

i'm assuming what happens is that you hit them with the shine, but by the time you realize it you've already short hopped out of the shine, expecting to continue the pillaring with another shffl'ed dair.

if they're in the right position, you could midairjump out of the sh and hit them with a dair that way.
