falco/fox..........can they possibly L-cancel short hop kicks into a shine without someone like marth(excellent grab range) block cancel grabbing? ive been trying to beat marths hold their sheilds up and grabbing, because like most know, grabbing is falco/fox's worst enemy

Fastfall the aerial, then shine right after.

If they are perfect, I believe the fastest grabbers, like shiek, marth, and peach, will still be able to grab you after the first shine. But to help your odds fastfall your aerial with a l-cancel into shine, after that its up to you. Changing it up will make them have to adjust to you again.

you can roll, rest out of your sheild (if ur jiggs) or shine out of your sheild (if ur also fox or falco) before the shine 2
well, u can definately roll before the shine, ive seen people shine out of it, im assuming rest since it's the same speed as the shine.

you can try landing behind them after the dair, that way they can't grab you.

i'd also say you could try wavelanding and then grabbing them out of their shield, but i've never actually managed to try it, so i dont know how well it works. they might just end up being able to grab you anyways.

if you keep getting shieldgrabbed when you try to approach with shffl'ed aerials, it means you need to change things up and try something new.

edit: oh, you asked about fox's dair too. that one's uh...well it seems to me like a drillshine can't really be shieldgrabbed if you get the l-cancel right. i could be wrong, but from what i remember, there's no window for the opponent to shieldgrab, because of the multihit nature of the dair.

thx man, i watched a tape of masashi facing ken and Dair'ing the drillkick. when he did it correctly ken couldnt grab(given that ken may have not grabbed perfectly everytime, but then again hes the best marth "supposedly"). i was just practiing using that. i practiced them without a short hop tho. i think that if u SH into him(a marth) that his grab range will get u. so i tried to come down exactly on top

if ur a good falco they probably shouldnt be able tp sheild grab u , they dont grab me :chuckle:
