Well that seemed to go very smoothly. I hope everyone had fun, and I know the raffle was cheesy but hey- Snickers. You know there's going to be some waiting when you only have five stations and over 100 want to play.

If anything went wrong, or needs to be fixed for next year for The First Great Brawl, please let me know. I was the big white guy organizing everything and telling people to shut the **** up. Sorry about the few hiccups (the wrong Joseph incident ftw). Next year we're set to have 10 Wii stations up for FGB, so seriously, comment/question/concern away.

oh sh*t bro you go to CSUN? i go to CSUN i even dorm there haha

hey if youre holding a tourney you got a bit to learn. first off you wanna use the MLG rules and a good idea would be to charge entry and the prize is a percentage of the entry fees. they usually go like this:

1st 60%
2md 30%
3rd 10%

entry fee: $5

anyway dude thats cool that youre holding a tourney and if you ever wanna smash casual hit me up on aim (Zackthepundit)

first of all yeah i agree with the above post about the rules, its just easier that way. although i pick final destination every match i can anyways lol

but anyways. serious, if we are holding a tourney in northridge at the dorms i am there. i go to school and work at northridge so im here all the time. if you wanna hit me up for some casual smash i could bring a couple of my friends and we could have some mini tourneys or something (considering october is so far away too) ya know, with like lower buy-ins or just free throw downs. whatever im totally down for this.

djkunai
07-08-2006, 06:30 PM
That's the reason for the giftcards.

Mikomicon is also looking for volunteers, too.

If you come down, stop by and see Rob Paulsen, who does the voice of Pinky from "Pinky and the Brain" and Yakko from "Animaniacs". He was also Ninja in "Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes".

whatcha talking about, there's more than a month away :].

will food be provided at this?

djkunai
09-06-2006, 03:32 AM
Oops, more than a month away.

The tournament is going to be held at an anime/gaming convention. There is a restaurant bar in the union, which serves burgers, chicken, and other "grill" type of food. Food will be available but not free. Sorry. Entry is free as long as you have a mikomicon badge.

how much is entry?

djkunai
10-03-2006, 12:12 AM
You can pre-register for a badge on the website. It's $25 for one day, or $30 for all three. There's going to be a five hour Smashfest the night before (Friday), which will make it easier for tourney sign ups the next day, since a lot of people will already have their badges.

Also, we're going to be selling snacks so you don't have to leave and get food like most other cons. Instead, it'll all be in the same room.

xDARKLINKx
10-03-2006, 12:18 AM
could we buy that badge there???

like the night before??

djkunai
10-03-2006, 01:20 AM
Yeah, beginning at 10AM on Friday you can buy a badge onsite, and smash to your hearts content until 1AM. 13 hours of Smash on Friday alone, that being just practice for Saturday.

I don't think you guys understand how massive this tournament is actually going to be...

Johnny Blitz
10-03-2006, 03:02 AM
um so entry will cost 30 dollars?

xDARKLINKx
10-03-2006, 03:23 AM
im down for 30.

Johnny Blitz
10-03-2006, 03:25 AM
30 is too steep for me i think...

SexyDoodles
10-03-2006, 04:04 AM
well it seems like a 3 day event for the anime/video game convention, $30 for the admission to all 3 days of the convention... the smash tourney seems like something they just decided to add.

djkunai
10-03-2006, 04:18 AM
It was a way to encourage more attendees.

So if i couldn't make it on Sat, then could I just come friday? Do I have to pay the fee? And btw, I am a student at csun, so admission is free. 5$ for full badge admission. So in no way am I missing this.

djkunai
10-03-2006, 03:11 PM
CSUN students need to pay the extra $5 to get in for the tournament. If you can only show up on Friday, you can just get a wristband from registration for free with your student ID and hang out in the Thousand Oaks Room (that's where console gaming is- it's a pretty big room).
