ALthough I do have mental lapses, my falco is getting relaly amazing and I am confident I can do anything in his arsenal consistently, except the LHDL. I have been uing the control stick to jump in LHDL for this whole time , but I just cant seem to do it consistently. So I was wondering If someone could please take the time to make a short tutorial video of how to us ethier Y or x button rather than the control stick to jump? What I am really looking for is footage of someones hands holding the controller, and seeing he/she do it personally, that would help me more than anything, I just ask to make like a 5 or ten second vid, ti would help incredibly and you would stop getting asked about this same topic over and over again.

All you'd see is the person press down, then jump, then spam B. How exactly would that help?

sounds kinda lame but I'm a completely visual learner. If it werent for youtube, I would probably not even know how to waveshine, i need to see thigns done and see the exact timing. and if a video isnt gonna be amde could you give me something in terms f frames and when to move my fingers?
Just do the drop, jump then b as fast as you can, until you do it fast enough. Theres a pretty decent margin for error, shouldn't take too much experimenting to see how fast you need to be.
i dont see the problem as to using the joystick. everything takes consitency and timing. some people use the A button to SHFFL and others use the c-stick. whatever feels easier to u, use it; even if mistakes happen. practice will make that down and up motion of the analog seem second nature when doin the LHDL. if uve got a decent grasp on it, why switch methods. if its gonna take u longer to perfect the X/Y method rather than the analog, y try?
if its not broke, dont fix it.

LOL, I feel lke sucha noob! I didnt know u could use the c-stick to drop fro the ledge! now I do it consistently and with bombsoldier effieiency. You guys were right about finding the way you prefer to do certain moves. Thats one of the things I love about thsi game, there so many ways to do the same thing, so that everyone can be comfortable doing it. DONT MAKE A VID LOL
c-stick? dont u mean the analog?

ok - ill clear this up, and give you a VERY easy way of doing it
you use BOTH the control stick and x.
press down on the control stick, and press x at the same time - you will jump VERY high <it will be much like a normal jump
then you have all the time in the world to do it.

no, you press down on the c-stick, up on the control stick and mash b.

thats the 'fake' LHDL.
the supposably 'real' one is where the lasers are both on equal height and still as low as to hit a normal character (fox etc). which is when it becomes useful.

Just hit down on the control to let go and fastfall, then slide your thumb from Y to B. Don't actually push down then lift off the Y button, but rather catch the left side of it while going towards the B button. Make sure you get use to avoiding the A button when you do it like this or you'll do a n-air instead. You'll actually be able to get the first laser to be LOWER than the second if you do this. I try to get the 1st one to skim right along the floor (unless they are light shielding it'll basically always hit most chars when standing) and have the 2nd come out right before landing.
This also makes fox and falco's ledge hopped single lasers to ledge re-grab a lot easier. It's also how I can SHDL with fox in 2x speed, and hit shorter chars like falco with both lasers when SHDLing with fox.
Alternatively, you can also hit the Y button with the tip of your thumb and push the B button with the joint of your thumb which is probably easier for most people.

Just to show another example of how the LHDL works, just do a fulljump and spam B. If you do it quick enough, the first l4z0r should be lower than the second one. If you can't do that, you phail.
Anyway, use magus's method, I use it as well, and it's very helpful, especially with fox's SHDL. PS: Magus how is it even possible to hit chars like fox with both hits of the shdl?

If he's standing on level ground with you you can't. Fox is too short and the first goes just above his ears. Falco is tall enough to get hit in the forehead though.
you can hit them both on a pichu if you're good enough dude, you just have to vary the amount that you ledgedrop to nail them twice

^^ I was talking about Fox's SHDL in that last post, not Falco's LHDL. Pay attention.

oooo ok then XD
well if you want to get the lasers the same height - you need to drop a LITTLE further down - but the same principle still applies - however you have to be VERY fast in pressing b after x+control stick together <faster than fox SHDL and marths SHDFAIR>

That's why you use Y not X to do it. Unlike Fox's SHDL though, you don't need to worry about short-hopping which makes it easier.
