combo and edge guarding help

i need help comboing

i can shffl a dair into a shine and start up a combo but i need ideas to go from there

most the time i just wing it but my brother will end up DIing out of my combo

also once i get them off the edge of a stage i can never succesfully edge guard and keep the from returning idk what my problem is i just cant

falco ditto!! ok. so if you land a shine, wavedash out of it (waveshine) and hit him with another shffld dair. then shine him again and waveshine to another shffld dair. then shine him again, and waveshine to a shffld uair and follow that up with something. thats 50% right there. the last uair is easily substituted by, for instance, dash -> JC'd upsmash, or a shorthop shine to bair, or just bair, or nair, or whatever (depending on DI)

for edgeguarding vs falco, run offstage with bair, or hang on the ledge and bair his recovery, or if you're on stage, dsmash.

but when i waveshine do i wave dash instantly out of the shine and anticapate his DI or do i wait till i see what hes doing with his DI and then wavedash and continue to combo????

it's not possible to know exactly where your opponent will DI, but MANY players DI away from the edge of the stage. then again, you can always combo out of a pillar and not worry about that or full jump triple laser them when they DI away + aerial JC shine to b-air or d-air

true. but on low % vs fastfallers you dont need to know where the opp. will DI. Just waveshine out of shine backwards and run forwards with another shffld dair. works the first two times ^^

my brother likes to jump alot and avoid me till im open then he just dairs or somethin and makes an attempt to combo me

how should i keep him on the ground till i start to combo him myself

its really annoying cause all he does his spam double jumps and full jumps and hits me when im open
