Are there any free tourneys in Southern CA any time soon? In fact, do free tourneys get held at all? I'm new here and I don't know how this works very well yet, so forgive me if I say something that doesn't make much sense.

Okay, thanks for the reply. About how much do tourneys usually cost?

It's crazy cheap, like usually 5 bucks to enter singles, 5 bucks for doubles or whatever else it is you wanna do. I'm kinda new at it too but been lookin at a lot of stuff.

Some people hold smashfests, which are almost always free. But that's just a bunch of people playing smash.
Most smaller tournies cost $5 for singles and $5/ person for doubles. Of course, if you're good enough, all tournies are free :-).

Really? Pros get in most tounrys free? Do they still get the prize if/when they win?

Err. what I meant was, if you're good enough to win, then the winnings always cover your entry fee ;-)

Everybody should do some reading b4 posting stuff like this.
If you don't pay itz a smashfest, if you pay itz a tourney, duh. Makes sense doesn't it?
