i have a question on shffl dairs

when you do them should you start to dair at the apex of your jump or right after you jump

cause i find it easier to do it at the apex of the jump so i can fastfall and dair at the same time

but other times ill do it a bit to late and wont get out the dair and i will just hit the ground with out doing anything

which way do you guys do?

If you're getting grabbed out of pillaring, start the dair later in the jump. If you're subject is escaping, start the dair earlier in the jump. That's the general rules.

If you're going through them then do it at the peak, if you're planning on landing in shield grab range then do it late.

It's such a good move it doesn't really matter XD.

^ it does, really, because if you start it too early: either maximum-speed fastfalling won't get you far enough for your shine to hit and you get grabbed (or whatever) or because you hit the shield from the top you get lagged so much that you miss the lcancel and get grabbed (or whatever.) That's when pillaring (on a shield). Like False said, do it early when you want to go past the shield and late when you want to pillar.

mmhm, try using the c-stick if you haven't already, it makes it easer (IMO) to control the timing on your fastfall. using c-stick for the dair and using control stick for the fastfall allows you to control the timing of each individually...can be useful. although of course you can still do it without c-stick, if you practice.

With the CStick for all you aerials = better to get used to - because you can actually fastfall whenever you like. and uair without using your second jump.
or fastfall while doing an uair :p

ill try to learn with the c-stick

maybe i havent practiced enough to get used to it

I first used the A button for aerials, too (because I learned in training mode) but eventually I went to CStick because of a) the fastfalling issues and b) the ability to DI sidewards while pillaring (DIing sidewards while doing the shffld dair as to pillar across the entire stage. It's wonderful really).
And for stuff like bair it's wonderful as well, because you can DI to the right and still bair someone left of you. Etc.

yeah i mainly use the a button becasue of practice mode

so ill try the c-stick and maybe ill get used to it

Sure. Once you've got the basic advanced stuff down a bit (WD etc) it's better to practice vs a lvl 1 CPU anyway because you can learn basic comboing that way as well.

i do do that

i put on no time limit and unlimited stock and i just play for like 30 minutes to an hour

but other times i just go into training to practice moves in slow motion that im trying to pick up and then i just raise the speed to normal when im comfortable with it
