I think when we get there we should take a vote, and if more than 25% of the people don't want to pay a measely $3 then we won't do it this time.

But I mean come on, Sieg has spent tons of money playing Time Crisis 3 and what can he show for it:

Finishing it once...in co-op.

Some pay to play to have fun.
Others will pay to play to win.

I mean, if everyone had Sieg's kind of attitude, where would SSBM be now?
- With 3 or 4 guys in a basement casually playing after meeting on the net like it was 3 or 4 years ago. That's where.

Originally we said "Okay, we'll make the event entry fee $7" and Sieg started ****ting about having to practically give his money to Syke/KK.

So then I suggested "Okay, event entry fee - $4, Singles tourney entry - $3" And now he says we're FORCING him to pay now, when the whole point of setting it up like that was to give him the choice NOT to pay.

Does anyone agree with that logic? Anybody?

Siege is right, an entrance fee for singles tournament is quite out of the question. I'll start by saying that i've got up to 5-6 new people showing up tomorrow, not including myself and bro. Now i've given them the information that has been general and consistent throughout this thread, which should NOT be changed.

Voting is even out of the question, no one is crazy enough to put in even a small entrance fee due to the fact their are some players clearly superior to others, and even if you would call yourself 'the best qld smasher' theirs still not a great chance u'll win the tournament.

Another thing, how many players do you think will participate? honestly..

So by enforcing an 'entrance fee' your cutting the tournament by 4/5ths easily, making the tournament no where near as fun or enjoyable as it is.

Now I can see your point vyse, but lets be honest, SSMB is a game, and should be treated like one, now i do not see any problem is wagering money, however, if you ARE to wager money, then..

You can simply wager with other smashers that doesnt not currently conflict with the 'Set Timetable'. In doing so, everyone willing to pay your 'fee' will do so and not affect everyone else as a result.

On a final note, if you did plan on wagering for an event, it should have been set 'weeks ago', this obviously hasnt happened. Together with lack of notice and the serious willingness of players, I can safetly say it wouldn't be in the best interest of the QLD smash scene.

I versed Vyse's Falco which was insanely hard, by far the hardest matchup for me in the entire tournament, Marth vs Falco (falco 2 stocks me, then 1 stocks me), dam vyse is good), was seriously difficult. Unfortunately my secondary character (samus) was also not a choice as the Vyse's Falco, beats samus way too easily.

Then I versed Gosu's Peach.

God.. it was such a close match.

I won first battle, Marth vs Peach, just..

Then i lost second battle, Marth vs Peach, just..

Then I chose to try counterpick with samus, however it did not worked as plan, and lost, yet still gave him a run for his money (over 80% dmg last stock etc).

GTR: Man i don't know what to say. Your shiek just exploded. Congrats on 4th. You gave me a real run for my money sheik vs. peach pitty you suicided we might have had a 3rd match. Im proud that your a member of tech good stuff keep it up.

Toai: Toai, Toai, Toai whats going on man. You can keep up with my peach and falco when its just the two of us, you frequently get within one stock and only the best from the ward can do that. Do you suffer from tourney nerves?? Oh well you always improving and IMO are gonna explode soon you and you and andrew will be a team to watch out for at SQUAT 3.

Syke: Haha i know i talk **** all the time and say your not that good but i am just mucking around. You are a awesome smash player well deserved 1st place. You have been consistenly the best smasher in QLD along with josh. Glad you are on my side. You and marth strike fear into the heart of me every time we play hopefully soon ill catch up.

Josh: What can i say man, if im a cornerstone you are the foundation. QLD smash would still be lost in the wilderness with out your commitment to the game and to the QLD scene. Your prowess with all of the characters you play amazes me, it took alot of hard work from me to get decent with 1 character but you can play about 6 extremely well. Good job on 2nd i think pigs will fly before we see you place any lower than top 3 at a QLD tourney. Thanks for carrying our team i won't play the falc next time!!.

Matt: Man your peach rocks. I continue to learn alot from watching you play. I'm annoyed we didn't get to play any ditto's. Congrats on 5th we'll have to work together to figure out how to beat samus (i can't do it either).

Nick: Solid performance for your first tourney. Pitty ward didn't give us more of a challenge then you could have shown everyone what you can do in the crew battle. Well done keep it up your improving everytime i play you.

The Ward:

Vyse: Man you are top s**t. IMO the best the ward has. Your falco gave my peach a hard time (im lucky i can chainthrow) I am suprised you didn't place a higher in the tourney but good work none the less. Everyone else in the ward should be grateful the you have Vyse.

Radiance: Man what happened in the tourny. Bad luck coming up agains't Gosu and Vyse straight away they are top players. Your marth is getting really good learn to chainthrow!!. I think everyone will agree with me that you are one of the better players from the GC. Well done in teams you and tristan gave josh and i a real challenge **** those matches were close congrats on 3rd in teams.

K-OS: Good doc man. Work on those Bair wavelands. Pitty we didn't get to have a few more matches well done in the tourney.

Accelerate: I thought what syke said summed it up nicely even though he was a bit harsh. Your good man but not that good. Tone down the s**t talk a bit everyone will respect you more. Well done on 5th though your definitely a good player no doubt about it.

Seig: I don't think i played you at all but from what i saw good samus man. Ill agree with toai tell shiek to go back to turning tricks down in the cross and keep playing samus.

Tristan: Man you're samus gives me the sh*ts keep it up man. You and radiance make a real good team well done.

Yokai: Awesome pikachu man. You have improved a s**tload since last time we played. Watch some vids of good pikachu's (i'm not sure of who). Im not looking forward to next time we meet im sure youll be even better good stuff.

MOOSE: Why kirby??? What happened to zelda and IC's. Your zelda is a peach slayer man i had a tough time against it. I want more zelda next time!!

Rat_Venom: Thanks for all the effort you put into organising the tourney man. I don't think we played at all ill have to verse you next time.

Good tournament everyone i was real impressed with how much everyone improved (especially Andrew). The level of smash being played was awesome. Once again however TECH showed to be the class crew, 4 members in the top 5 in the singles tourney and a dominating performance in crews. Don't be disheartened Ward you guys improved tons since last time and im sure you would have done better in crews if radiance, tristan and accelerate didn't have to leave early. Its good rivalry we have going im looking forward to SQUAT 3.
