oh, i suck at doing this, but i found this way of doing it easier. i dont know why, but this way helps me alot and i average about 4-5 straight whenever i want

if u dont use Y to jump, then u might not want to try this since u have the A button in between B and X

press down b and hold down, put ur finger on the Y button immediately and slide it down to b, then repeat the motion of sliding ur finger from Y to B over and over while holding down.

seems to help me >.>

Or use your middle finger on a jump button and your index on B ;)

False do you actually hold your controller like that? B/c not many ppl do. I've never heard of a Falco player positioning their hands like that. I have seen some foxes do that.

I can get acouple (6-7) sometimes when i use the actual control stick to jump... which works better for you'all? Control Stick or x/y??

I only put my hands like that for the repeated JCd shines, because well, I dont use that in battle. So I can just relaxedly change my hands. (and back to normal position before i start to fight again)

i agree with u foxandfalco. switchin hand configurations in game play is to impractical and using the x to do it leads to to many mistakes

True, but when in battle would you ever used JCd shines with Falco? :o
When not in battle you could just as well switch fingers.
Or not do this useless thing at all. :p
Against shields I'd rather pillar. So there's no use left really...

I knew about that, that's why I said.

;)

edit: So like, why do sth risky when normal pillaring works just as well + leaves you better to react, because say one of the JC'd shine connects you're so concentrating on the techskill that you'll dair -> shine afterwards anyway, whilst with regular pillaring it's much easier to follow with a combo or sth.

ANother way I like, becauuse I'v become brainwashed into using x is sliding my thumb up from b to x (you can hit the a button, because while ur relfecting it dosent matter) then quickly hitting b again. I'm trying to teach myself to use this, but i still find myself using the control-stick, but thats gonna give you carpel tunnel eventually.

I use doubleshining more then i used to.
its very useful against shield grabbers
for example, if u miss one shine, u can hit with the second shine.
and do a major combo
but thats just me

Hm. I was fooling around a bit just today and found it's incredibly easy to keep holding the controller naturally but stil use two fingers for this; the index finger that's usually on the R-trigger I put with the side on the Y button. So like, the right side of my index finger is on the Y button. Switching to R and back is extremely easy... I jump with X so sliding over is not an option.

lol at falcos incredible technical style.
x - for jumping and pillaring
y - for 2x+ JCed shines
control stick - shine > aerial (while in air ofcourse)

hardest character in the game to play and master by far (IMO :chuckle: ).

hmm, i find DJC constantly with yoshi and ness much harder than using falco and fox.
i actually think falco is one of the easier ones to master tech skill with..easier than marth lol..i have trouble with the Short Hop double f-air

ctrl stick for shine -> aerial but x for pillaring? isnt pillaring using a dair (aerial) out of a shine :p

i meant when u jump in the air to hit someone with a shine and JC into an aerial. i cant do it fast enough with the x/y so i use the control stick and this allows me to do this technic to any character at any percent

it was a little vague wasnt it

Yeah..I'm having trouble jump canceling shines with falco. Any more specific tips? I'll go try Switching fingers but that would be a little tedious during a heated game.

Yeah I know you could pilliar shielders instead of double shining but..I gotta have the bragging rights

Of course, [the space animals] shine game is just super flashy (haha, no pun intended) and showy. Plus falco got the shl. which is more useful than Fox's.

last night I saw a video (For the record, I haven't watched much Falco vids, just started playing him w/ advanced stuff) and he was waveshining the Peach's shields.

'Twas pretty flashy.
