I just cant seem to do it right. Let me make sure i got this. Shine->Vertical Wavedash->Smash.

That might not be right, being the problem, but, on occasion, I have done it this way. But mostly, I have this .5-.7 second pause before I smash, rather than an instant smash.

Whether this combination is right or wrong, can you still give me a good way to practice it?

Thanks

This is all about finger speed bro. You just need to keep practicing what you're doing and it'll get easier. I used to not be able to do it either, but eventually it'll come. And do you use the A button or the C-stick on the smashes?

Actually, there's a faster method. If you've heard of usmash out of shield, then you'll know what I'm talking about. But I have a hunch you don't, lol.

Anyways, to do this, you JC your shine, then in the frames that it takes Falco to leave the ground, which is about 6, I believe, you perform a upsmash (usually), or any other smash.

With JC upsmash out of shine, I find it easiest to input usmash manually, right after I jump. Hope this helps.

I never heard of your method, Hydro, but I will try it, thanks. Oh, and I use c-stick.

EDIT: On a side note, can you tell me how man FPS SSBM runs on?

why would u do this with falco? wouldnt a wavedash out of shine to s shfld drill be better? nd then link sum more shines and shfl drills and uairs

yes your right, its much better to do waveshine combos, rather than what you are saying you do(which i really don't quite understand). waveshine combos often build more damage against fast fallers instead of the pillar more used for characters such as marth, peach and samus.

Yes, I was practicing just now, and i realized that Falco's shine only goes up. I just started using falco a day or so ago, changing from Marth, so I did not know this fact  But hey, it's still good to kno incase I play random and get Fox, or if I decide to try Fox anyway. Hydro, I prefer your method, however, I prefer to flick both sticks upward, with the analog just slightly before the c-stick. Thank you guys!

Na!l, ssbm runs at 60 frames per second.

hydro kirby, IIRC the only smash the you can do out of a jump-cancel is a usmash...

but it's still useful. usmash out of shield can be pretty unexpected.
