Nobody said you couldn't host more than one, the more the better. And who said the UK circuit had to be restricted to 4 tournaments all the time? The more the better I say.

I know you'll only be around on the saturday, the only thing gonna be happening on sunday if anything happens will be doubles. I kinda doubt many people will be interested seeing as it's going to be happening at my house.

First post on SMashboards for what seems like AGES!!!

Anyway, I can't go to this tourny, but if another was held sometime in december/early january I will be able to go (Somewhere near London would be good..or Birmingham..the more events the better).

Good luck to all that attend this touny!

thee arent many tournaments in the uk. theres no point indicating where ud like a tournament to take place. tournaments occu here one eprson takes it upon themself to find a venue and sort out housing.

Basically , if you want to be involved you have to travel , nuff said.

UK SEASON 06 -07
----------------------

Autumn Stop : NORTH WEST (Lancaster) ; Anarchy Rules hosted by BB October 28th

Winter Stop : NORTH EAST (Newcastle upon Tyne) ; hosted by myself probs early Dec. If this falls thru then ill be hosting in easter.

Spring Stop : SOUTH WEST (Yeovil) ; hosted by monty and the GMC late Jan/early feb.

Just looking for a summer and easter tourney and were nicely sorted all year round!

Kone: Christmas break at my uni is 23rd-7th Jan so you know.

BB: Another North Westernly tourney sounds cool. Always happy not to have to travel far :P

Everybody else: 4 weeks yesterday till AR! =D

I wouldn't miss it for the world.... well maybe the whole world or half of it bt less than that no way!

Btw i'm taking Computer Games Software Design and for some reason they make you stay till the 23rd!

BloodBowler
10-02-2006, 01:32 PM
I think I finish on the 19th. But if you're making it for a weekend then I think most people would be able to make it.

Khaine

if i do have college at that time, i'll only be missing the one day for travel.

no worries here

Spring Stop : SOUTH WEST (Yeovil) ; hosted by monty and the GMC late Jan/early feb.

Hosted by paul my left bollock :P He's just providing housing. *being pedantic* Butyeah, fortunetly I don't have any college-shaped commitments, and my job happens to involve playing games all day ^^

Good news though - our transport is all totaly sorted. I actualy managed to ****ing organize something for once in my life. I'm quite proud :3

You've got me interested! Aslong as I can work out how much it costs to get to Yeovil I should be able to go.

The tourny will be open to anyone yes?

ATTENTION LONDON SMASHERS
For those who are going to AR, please read this!!
If you are going to travel by coach, I have done a little research and a return journey to/from Lancaster will cost a minimum of £31

BUY YOUR TICKET ASAP!
The cost of the ticket will continue to rise during the next upcoming weeks!

If you go onto the National Express website (www.nationalexpress.com) On the left side click on 'Can't Find Your Destination', then you need to enter the following:
From: Victoria Coach Station
To: Lancaster Bus Station
Departing: 27th October ALL (Friday)
Returning 29th October ALL (Sunday) <-- Some people may want to return on monday

*Then click on 'Times and Fares'
*The Stations should display ok, click on 'Continue'.
*We are taking the following coaches:
Friday 27th - 19:00 - 2:45
Sunday 29th - 10:10 - 17:25 (with 0 stops)

*The cost of the ticket (per person) should cost £31.
**You need a card (debit/credit) to purchase the ticket.

Meetup time - 18:00/6pm Burger King, Victoria Station.

Transport For London (www.tfl.gov.uk) is a website to help you find your way to victoria station if you're unsure.
*Oyster card users, it will cost you £1.80 single to Zone 1, don't bother buying a travel card.

We'd like to travel with more people, the more the merrier :)

PS: London crew, unite!!!!

jus wondering if u want me to meet u in bolton n we could get the train to lancaster together up2u tho

Kone

Gary and other london smashers :

Before purchasing national express tickets please contact national rail enquiries. theres a possiility you can get a train which is much more comfortable and quicker. ring the helpline up and ask how much a GROUP TICKET OF TEN people is to lancaster ont he dates you need. if you ca get ten of u travelling from london u may get it alot cheaper than national express. OR GROUP OF THREE OR FOURS , they give discounts for them groups!

BloodBowler
10-03-2006, 02:06 PM
I will so have to remember this group thing for the next tournaments. I think I might just persuade some friends to come along anyways.

10-03-2006, 10:14 PM
Ed, I doubt national rail would be a good idea (unless you're travelling in a group of 10+ as you've stated).

However, national rail tends to cost double the price, yet halves the time spent travelling. I understand what is being said, however I think the coach is the most appropriate way to travel for this tournament.

Me and Alex have booked our tickets today, I suggest the other london smashers book their tickets too ASAP.

If we rack up enough smashers for the tournament in winter/december, then I'll consider the usage of national rail. I child ticket tends to be cheaper than an adult ticket + I'll investigate into the group travel card.

Thanks Dude.

XD Actually Gary i wanted to talk with you about national rail after Ed posted that =)

I dont mind paying more if its gonna take 2-3 hours from the journey (+ it will take me like 2 hours after work on friday to get to Victoria Coach station). >.<

Is anyone actually taking the train from London to Lancaster?

Kman25
10-04-2006, 12:00 PM
Yeah I will be taking train from London to Lancaster, even though you already know alex lol, But yeah Ill join the group if there will be one to save money and stuff and not get bored on the train =P

Kone
10-04-2006, 12:15 PM
Yup, in most cases the coach is alot cheaper and worth the extra hours. However, having just finished a stint working for nationalr ail enquries id urge you to give them a call and find out how much you'd save on said journey ina group of four and then a group of ten. Im sure you can find ten london smashers!

JO3, Kone, I accept!
Who else wants moneymatches?

Btw I really, really need some help finding my way from London to Lancaster. If I have a place to stay in London, where someone can help me get to/from Heathrow that would be ACE! Did I forget to mention I'm #3 in Europe btw? lol

when im around, everything works out *winks*

today me and coey hosted our own tournament at our university, we had 16 people, and we only decided on monday we would have it, so, for anybody interested it was a complete sucess.

J03
10-05-2006, 07:20 AM
yeah but kone and DSD9 are only there on the saturday so we might be struggling on sunday, i dunno though coz the major events and everything are on the saturday :S

BB, u will we b alryt with jus 5 t.v's on the sunday ?

COEY
10-05-2006, 07:51 AM
U realise the sunday events arent being held at BB's house at not at the event location and there will be fewer players, plus the events on suday are low tier and 2 v 2 so at least as far as 2 v 2 goes we won't need as many anyways.

Joe: if you press alt + f4 it will bring up Helios porn! :P
