Eek, only till 7?! ouch. Your going to have to make sure you get this tournament kicked off by 12 to have a chance. So make sure your plans for getting people too the venue are sorted so that their there pretty quickly. Don't worry bout us, we'll get there by 11 latest.

You shud choose a time your wanting the tournament to start and START it then.

How much have you looked into running a bracket / pools and estimate on how long each pool will take? you'll have to ensure each pool is ran by someone competent. Running a bracket isnt easy, read into it before the tournament and make sure you know whats happening.

Have you factored in that people generally want food?! how long that time will take away from you? people always wander off after singles and you lost an hour to an hour and a half. Ensure that say you put aside an hour for people and an hour only or something and make sure there back for regionals or doubles or whatever you plan. Just remember that!

Organise when your doing crews and when your doing doubles. I can vouch for at least half of my lot not caring about doubles, so you'll most likely still have all the people that do care at your house sunday. just run it then with prizes?!

Crews take ****ign ages. Us v gmc, mafia v gmc and us v mafia will take a few hours!

If you've got the venue till 7 does that mean YOU have to be out by 7? packing up equipment and moving tvs ( never underestimate how hard it is to move tvs, we had three cars ont he go last time and it still was a nightmare). If you hve to be out by 7 (check if theres anything on after you) then your going to be wanting to finish 6. Talk to owner and ask for more time imo

We will be there the day before as we all live close by (compared to most people) and to get to know the area we are going up on sunday to see BB, as well as to generally play smash of course.

If possible, it'd be good to actually run regionals during both singles and teams. If you occupy 2 TV's for regionals and run spree singles matches at the same time, I can see all three tourneys taking place on the same day.

I'll re-check with the venue and make sure it's hired from 10am. Don't worry about transport, my house is about 1 minute's walk from the venue. As for food, you only have to walk 30 seconds down the road (Ironically, the shop is inbetween my house and the venue) and you can get food. The sweet thing about this is the cost of the venue includes using the kitchen facilities.

So if we start getting everything together at 10, we'll kick off with teams (Which I'm told is a good warm up for singles) and then move straight into singles. We'll start crews with what time we have left, if needsbe I'll extend the time we have the venue or we can continue back at the house. What time are the Battalion boys looking to be out of here?

Hmm - would it cost more to get it hired out later? Possibly till like 10? Or is that off the table? As pending how much it costs, I imagine it would make things alot easier. If it's a You Are Out By 7, then nevermind, but if it's malliable, then later would be better, as 7 seems a bit small for whats going on.

Anyway, I've been looking into flights and stuff. So far, I found a very cheap one.

Going by train (Thalys) to Brussels. Get the plane from Brussels S. Charleroi to Glasgow Prestwick. Flying in on the 25th of October and going back on the 30th of October.

I have no idea what the bus/train costs from Glasgow to Lancaster though.

So, I'll need housing in Glasgow in possible (I heard one of the maffia lives there), but I might be housed by an old friend, but I can't reach him now. >_<

And housing in Lancaster of course. =D

My issue with the food has nothing to do with me wanting to eat while im there lol, ill bring a packed lunch lol. My point was factor in the time needed for people to piss off and get food.

Regarding venue time. Try extend it to at least 9. Id want to be leaving 9 latest, meaning id get into newcastle sumtime around 12ish. Be much easier if you can hold the venue for 2 hours more to get crews done rather than the hassle of getting to your house. Even if its a short distance organising moving people and equipment is still hassle.

Helios : what do you enjoy about crews? its the atmosphere isnt it?! crews are crap is their aint no atmosphere. running crews during singles and doubles isnt possible. the three crews taken part, sdb gmc and mafia, pretty much constitute 15 of the best players in the UK (hopefully lol) see my point?! i know i want to be watching the gmc v mafia and not playing!

Doubles first sounds good, what time you looking to start doubles BB?! if you could get it done and have singles kick off by 1 then youll be fine if you have venue till 9 imo. the battalion will aim tog et there for 12 then, not fussed bout doubles personally.

About crews:Remember Mafia will only have 4 or 5 players,so thats about 20-30 mins yeah?Also if there is time problems maybe consider shortening gmc v sdb to 5 or 6 players per crew?
I think everything can get done in the one day,but if I have a singles or doubles match that crosses with crews then singles or doubles will take priority.I'm going to this tourney for those two events and I dont really care about crews.Dont get me wrong though,if I compete I will try my best.

to Thomaz:I live in Paisley,which is just outside of Glasgow.I'd be happy to house you,though I will have to check with my mum and whatever else.Also Glasgow Prestwick is actually about 40 minutes or so outside of glasgow,so you'll need to get another train to Glasgow Central.I'll PM you any further information as it comes up:).
