As for the only 6 stage thing, that kinda sucks lol. Counter picking stages is a big part of the game and i enjoy playing all the variations of stages. I would recomend going with a tried and tested rule set, Eds set was perfectly good. Upto you though of course

Guys this is 2006 not 2002 smash bros melee, we dont need ***gy stages like pokefloats and battlefield screwing people over. There's absaloutly nothing wrong with the 5 or so neutrals and if you wanna counter pick switch character, if you cant play more than 1 character (ryan) no johns.

First off, since the tournament looks to be attracting a lot more attention, got added to the circuit roster and just seems to be more professional, it needs a more professional style. I'll be updating the stage select to only 6 stages. Random will be Poke Stadium, Final Destination and DreamLand 64. Slob stages will be Fountain of Dreams, Yoshi's Island and Battlefield.

Also, there is a chance this tournament MAY NOT HAPPEN. I don't want there to be any confusion about that. Just letting you all know I'm trying, but there's a possibility.


I agree with almost everything in that list, however, I wouldent object to a few weirder levels thrown into the list (IE: Mute, That metroid one with all the acid I keep forgetting the name of, and so on), but for gods sake, Ban Battlefield.

Another thing - if you **** this because the venue isn't fully paid, I will ****ing murder you. People (Including myself as of now) are more than willing to put up money before the day, all you need do is ask, and that shant be a problem. I should actualy be able to bring my projector - my mother is starting to cave, as she just realzied that all the people who would be using it in the shop are actualy coming up with me (I'm bringing like 9 other people ^^) Soyeah. If you have problems, things you need help with. Tell People. If you do your best, nobody can complain, but if you **** up because you tried to do it all yourself then you will have alot of very, VERY angry people on your back. This isn't ment to sound harsh at all, I'm simply trying to stress that I really am here to help with this, as are alot of people. We all want this to happen as much, if not more than you do. It's a group effort man, and if you need a hand with stuff then just ask ^^

I didn't wanna go too into it because no johns. But the venue just needs £60. That's it. I can assure anyone that would be willing to loan this amount that I would hand it back to you on tournament day.

The other problem: TV's. I'm looking at about 10 as a decent figure. Maybe one or two less won't be a problem. But like I've said earlier in the thread ANY AND ALL EQUIPMENT IS INVITED, APPRECIATED AND I SHALL LOVE YOU ALWAYS.

Talk to the venue owner and explain the situation. Your entry cost covers the cost of venue. Just tell them that and that the remaining owed amount can be paid on the day.

If this thing falls thru ill attempt to runa tourney as a replacement in Nov, but dont rely on it. Maybe too busy!

Are you sure you can deliver that Kone? You are transporting a fair few people too.

To be honest, the venue thing is THE ONLY problem as far as this tournament goes. The res can and will be sorted out on the day but when the venue is sorted then this tournament is full steam ahead.

As for the Battlefield thing, I was thinking about this idea:

Since the UK seasonal circuit was to emulate MLG only in the UK instead, instead of having any seperate rule sets that we should have one ruleset for all four seasonal tournaments. What do you think?

Can i just ask which stages were available at SCT4 (that was its name right) as most people seem to have like that selection and if so could be used as the tournament stage set for all 4.

BB: Yup a unified ruleset for all uk circuit matches would be great! im happy with my old ruleset and so seems others, should we use that? when ive got more time ill copy it in here for people to debate over if applicable?

Also, 4 tvs between 2 cars isnt too bad. theres a chance we may have three cars. also the tvs from myself will be small, so bringing two inthe boot isnt a hassle.

Kone: I'll agree with that. You are smash chairman so the descision is yours given the GMC has no complaints about it, the only rule I didn't like at SCT4 was that all first games had to be on PS. Also: Any more luck with the Kimmelman's/Any London players?

no i play in 60hz, but i doubt if every TV brought is regularly used for smash so they might not all have 60hz capabilities, i kno its doubtful but its still a minor concern

I didn't actualy see that part of the rules. I ****ing detest PS. The celing's too low, the platforms are auto-tippers, the walls are painful against a fox that knows what it's doing, and so on. I agree 100% with SCT's ruleset bar that - I think it should be random between PS, FD and DL64. I think we actualy need to get in a chat at some point, and work out a draft of the ruleset as it were - I doubt much will change, but we could then shove it up on the boards, and get anybody to air any particular complaints with it, and address them as they come, and maybe get it totaly finalized before AR, and then stick to it for the season.

I'm at work most of the time, but if anybody wants me, just PM me on here and I'll make sure I actualy arrange a time to be online.

Most tourney topics consist of trash talk and nit picking at the stages. There will never be a case where everyones happy with the rules so we may aswell go with a tried and tested rule set. Someone post Eds rules and then we can nit pick at whatever seems off. I don't mind ps being the only stage for first game because it is the fairest stage in the game but i don't care if that changes.

1. joe - weve had tournaments int he uk for a long time now. all your questions have been thought of before and answered. Making sure tvs are 60hz is just common sense these days ; ) . 2. Ill post the sct4 ruleset soon lol then we can nitpick. Pokemon stadium being first stage was just a laugh for me and my crew. we only ever play PS at home, thus we wanted it only for first game. i appreciate for a ruleset governing a UK circuit it should not be like that and that ps/fd/dreamland shud be random.

Slob pick stages hsud be pretty varied. ill find that ruleset soon ^_^

4. contemplating being craee and hosting my tourney in the xmas hols. dont think i can be arsed with nxt easter, ig ot the smash vibe now so better i do it when i care alot lol : D

what ppl think bout that? can u guys post our school.college or uni dates up for xmas ie when u finish and go back etc

5. just letting u know bb that the tv setups i bring will only be available the sat, as sun i wont be round. just making sure u knew that : )

6. ppl at sct4 = bout 30 ish. uk tournies usually have a turnout round that mark.


7. for the likes of jo3 and others im going to compile a briek history of uk smash ie timeline and what players started playing when etc also general tournament info and post it in first post on this thread. that'll help with ppls questions esp when brawl is out
