im sorry for this question but I dont understand, it sounds alot like pillaring...how do you Shinespike? I know it involves dair and shine...but the L-cancel seems unecessary because i can do it on my friend without canceling, and theirs very little lag time.

Waveshining is wavedashing out of shine...
You jump cancel out of shine, and air dodge the way you would wavedash after jumping.

here, i'll help you out by quoting it
Shine Spike: When you use the shine as a very quick method of preventing the opponent from getting back to stage. You use the knockback of the shine to hit the opponent away from the stage by doing the shine at a precise time. During a shine spike, the oppenent is knocked back at a fast speed and good distance. It's explained much more in the Fox Shine Guide and not explained at all in the Falco Shine Guide since it's not really a spike for him. Falco has his d-air and his shine cannot spike well since it brings the oppenent up, so, shine spiking with him is somewhat useless.
wow, just wow

Fox shine spikes not falco, although I suppose you could hit the opponent with it so that they bounce off of the stage and are sort of spiked

no, it's not. that's called JC shine + D-air Fastfall, repeat. it's just a combo.
since when did combos have special names?
read my shine guide, k? thanks, good bye

Well, its commonly referred to as 'shine to spike' combo (as opposed to pillaring and waveshining. i guess they have special names because they get confused alot. or the other way around :p)

well shine them dair -waveshine to a next shine, then dair basically :) just repeat that
wow go to any random player and start mentioning falco terminolgy and they will flip there lid :). falco is a very technical player (the most technical in the game IMO). shine spike is fox's. shine>d-air> spike > etc. is falcos. :chuckle:

that's just because any attack (like falco's shine) stops yoshi's double jump movement at high damage. that doesnt really count.
