I've been practicing lately with falco against CP or friends. When L-canceling against my friends peach, I often get grabbed during or after my dair(not to sure which one), but sometimes, i dair and instantly shine. this is so awkward for me because i've never had troubles L-cancelling with marth/falco (my mains) and i'm having trouble against a shieldgrabbing peach. Before when i used the dair i'd shffle it, but i'd start the dair as soon as i jumped. For the past 2 hours or so i've been practicing the shffled dair, but instead of using the dair immediatly i wait till the peak of my jump then doing the dair, when i do this it seems so much faster when i land it with the L-cancel, is this due to perfect timing in l-cancelling(is there even such a thing, a difference between perfect and standard?) or am I just missing my L-cancels somewhat against a shielding peach?

What's happening is that if you start the dair immediately, it doesn't create as much shield stun as you land (I think), because it's stronger at the beginning. So if you wait until you reach the top of your jump, you can hit the opponent's shield with your attack, fast fall, and land with shield stun still being useful.

Ah okay, I've been having that same problem too...
Thanks.
THough, is there such a thing as a perfect L cancel and a normal L cancel..
Sometimes with Link I'll d-air and recover instantaneously and other times I'll recover not as fast, but still faster than if I didn't l-cancel.

Yes, i'm pretty sure that is what it is, I just played my friend today and tried starting the dair at the peak of my jump beginning the shffl, and it stunned his shield not only but caused him to move a little bit away from me do to the spike against his shield. It wasn't that i was missing the l-cancels, it was just that he was able to shieldgrab halfway through my dair.
