hey guys,
i've been playing falco for a few months now and my bro plays a mario. He's always beating me and laughing about it and i need some help. ive searched the forum for help vs a mario but all ive found is vs doc. i can wavedash but dont use it too much and i JC shines when i use them. whenever i smash he rolls behind me and smashes me. he cant wavedash or chainthrow but im still always losing.

shine->dair, should work well if you can pull it off. also dthrow to dsmash is also good if he doesn't tech out of it and if you know he will smash you after you try it to smash him as soon as you smash hold the shield and hope you are quicker than him (which you should be). Try to mix up your game so that it isn't predictable.

you shouldn't really be using your fsmash all that much. that's actually one of my biggest problems. i'm guessing that you can SHL, and hopefully you can SHFFL arials. like doink said, use shine dair combos, or better yet, SHFFL'd dair, to shine, to dair to whatever works. mario's not a fast faller, so unfortunately he's not too insanely combo'able, but if you do your shine combos right you should be able to pull off as much as 80% or more combos.

i'd say only use your fsmash, other than obvious oppurtunities, out of a SHL. do it when you can SHL him in the air to continue a combo. otherwise like you said it's too punishable.

and just in case you didn't understand a lot of the stuff that i said, like SHL and SHFFL, go read one of the falco guides. they help.

Thanks you two, ive been shining a lot more and he doesnt seem to like it. i also perfected my shffl's about an hour ago. he's been asking me y i stopped the fsmash in a dissapointed way lol
