All right Texas smash community, my name is Gobz and I'm hosting my first tournament along with the rest of the valleyite crew. It's something I wanted to do for some time and it's only for the benefit of fellow Smashers and I have no interest in short changing anyone. We're serious about making this tournament extremlely enjoyable for who ever participates. Also, I apologize if this is so sudden, there isn't many places that open themselves up to gamers for tournies. Anways, hope many of you can consider joining us!

Date: August 5th
Place: Echo Hotel
Location: 1903 South Closner Blvd. Edinburg, Texas.
Field 1 V 1 and 2 v 2 No Items!
Format: Double Elmination (Round Robin Round to determine seeded brackets)
Time: Sign In begins at 12 PM with 1 PM start time.

Random Stages: Final Destination, Fountain of Dreams (Singles only), Battlefield, Dreamland64, Yoshi's Island, Pokemon Stadium

Counter Stages: Green Greens, Mute City (Singles only), Rainbow Cruise, DK64 and Brinstar. EVERYTHING ELSE IS BANNED!

Fees: $5 Registration For Venue (Most likely going to charity)
$10 Buy-in For Singles
$5 Buy-in for Doubles (Per Player)

Prizes: Nearly all of Buy-In Fees Goes back to the winners!
1st Place 70% of Prize Pot Atleast $200 low-end for both Singles and Doubles.
2nd Place 20% of Prize Pot. *Update* Now 50 bucks bonus for second place!
3rd Place 10% of Prize Pot.

Housing? I've received word that Tsetse (Rey) will be able to house anyone who decides to come on down. This means 6, 7 or 10+ so don't be shy or worry about a place to stay.

Look this is me Rey I have played most of you guys before, I have been to about 8 tourneys up state, so we would like to see who can make it down here to join us, this is not the first tourney we are hosting we are keeping the rules in line with MLG.

The prize money for singles alone is over 400$ you can expect a Prize payout of about the 200$ for doubles, this is of course if we only get 40 people here, we can get this amount just from the valley smashers so if you all come down that amount can go up to 500$ easily for singles, but we need your support. So there you have it a combine 600 dollars if not more for anyone that is willing to come take it from us, the following is a list of people coming to this, keep in mind this is only from the valley. But remember we need your support we want to make this a big statewide tourney.

All right everybody, I'm gonna update in a day or two with a pic of the conference room the competition will take place. It's sizable and should be just right to hold all the competitors comfortably. Those wondering if you'll be fed, naturally the hotel has a resturant and serves a variety of dishes that you'll enjoy. Also, we're in negotations with Mexican smashers for them to make an appearence. In addition, there's a chance of an other bonus going to anyone playing up state or within 150 miles from our area. We're still trying to secure two good Monterrey Mexico players, aswell as more Texas smashers. With about 3 weeks left, this tourney is looking awfully good. I encourage anyone from the state of Texas or surrounding regions to attend. Members of the Valley have supported many Texas tournies, and we try very hard to have members head on out to up state tournies. Now how about ya'll showing us a little bit of love? ;)

Kev$ usually wins tournies down here, and there is usually one thrown every month which has him coming out the winner. It's understandable that it's a hard decision considering the distance. As of right now with those confirmed, the pot stands at about 252 for the winner and rising, and not to mention what you could win with doubles. Since we achieved 30 people within days comittied to it, and we are aiming to get about 15 or more, and that's a good possiblity with 2 weeks left. There are a few up staters interested aswell, and we really hope they grace us with their presence.


In other news. Who can provide a sound system? Anyone? This is going to the crew you pansies.
