I'm getting better with falco each time I play. But a fact is fox is a bit stronger when mastered + i like fox more than falco ( not very much )

Should I change to fox now i still can and master fox instead of falco?

Please big replies ( well i know its not good the Big but in dutch i would say ."aub volledige en uitgebreide antwoorden" )

Greetings

Fox is not better or worse than Falco, they both have pros and cons. I "mastered" Falco first and now I can play Fox really well without ever practicing with him. Just choose whichever character you like better and stick with them, its easy to transfer from Fox-Falco and vice versa. Also if you master a character, you'll play better with ALL characters. Learn wavedashing, L-cancels, shieldgrabs, SHFFL, etc. and you can be good with anyone.

If you can't SHL w/ Falco or waveshine w/ Fox, you shouldn't choose either as a main character.

I started off with Falco as well, but after I got decent enough with him, and got the techs down, I started to learn Fox as well, since they compliment each other quite nicely.

Are you coming to NNja's tournament in Amsterdam this weekend? You should. Play alot of Fox and alot of Falco versus alot of different people and see which one you like best. And stick to that one for now.

Just use who you prefer more. Its that simple don't let who is higher on the tier list change your mind since they are both competative characters. Also your not going to master anyone anytime soon so... yeah dont say "Imma master him first then him" cause you wont.

I agree. Tiers mean very little in many communities, whereas skill means so much more. It doesn't matter which you play, as long as you practice and play that character well. Also keep in mind to have fun and you'll be a smashing success! =D pun INTENDED lol

Practice both; learning either character complements the other very nicely. If you practice shffl's with Fox, you'll have no trouble learning Falco. Practice waveshines with both characters, master your lasers... well, the short answer is that they help each other out. I recommend doubling up, if you can :)

dont practice wavedashing with luigi is you play either Falco or Fox because the timing for all three is different...

if you want to wavedash with falco - wavedash with falco - not other characters.

as far as swapping to fox - really - dont put so much trust in the tier list.

sure its there, its tried and tested - but you can play almost ANY character to a high level, and a level high enough to beat all the best pros in the world with good enough play.

there ARE some inherent disadvantages, but i really wouldnt put too much trust in the as they can be worked around.

In response... Ken is the best in the world and he mains marth mostly (though he does pick up fox from time to time). A lot of his top competition doesn't come from fox but rather from falco (PC Chris and Bombsoldier just to name a couple). Also Chudat mains ICs.... kind of a pointless post but I'm just backing up BrTaralog here.

It's just practice. The more you practice, the better you will get.

check this: A Falco can keep up WD'ing with a dashing Peach (3:50)

For me it was easier to master Falco after mastering Fox.

I use them both on tourneys!

Yeah, WDing with Falco is a pain because of his strange jumping lag. I believe its 6 frames where most char's is 4, which makes the timing a bit weird. I can actually WD consistently with everyone except Falco...

use da one that you truly "feel" when u play. like for me i play fox because his physics, and speed are just natural to me ( i play captain falcon too) falco is really strange to me but thats just me.

so pick the one (or both) that is more comfortable to play with

I'd love falco alot more if it was just easier to WD. Fox is easier because its almost instant button pressing, falco you have to wait.

This is all opinionated. if you don't like playing falco, i don't encourage you to play him then. if you like playing fox, i think you should. This is your decision not ours. each character has pro's and con's, so this is completely opinionated and up to you.
