How are Nintendo going to introduce the next characters?

Hey all.

I was just wondering if Nintendo make any more trailers or announcements for new characters or such, how would they actually introduce them and who do you think the'll try to introduce them.

What i'm trying to say is who is next on Nintendo's list of characters.
I guess there's always the case they'll just wait for the game and suprise us then.

But I think if Ninty were to make another trailer for Brawl it would include:

Originals
DK
Fox
Falcon
Bowser

Newcomers:
Diddy Kong(possibly coming round and taking out DK unexpectedly)
Black Bull(we see Falcon get blown away by a power surge. And Black Bull comes out from the shadows.)
Ike(Fire Emblem: POR. Maybe a Sword rush or something. Or maybe have fox pull out his Gun and have a sword show up and knock it out of his hand then we see Ike.)

Suprise Scene:
We see Mario and Bowser having a traditional fight. Then all of a sudden this Blue light comeson the screen running faster then ever, and kncoks Mario off. It's revealed as Sonic, he's starts beating Bowser up. The Sonic does his special, and Bowser is gone. Sonic then finishes with "Who's next?"

they will probably show us a trailer at the tokyo game show in sept. or at spaceworld, whichever comes first is my guess.

what i really want sakurai to do is reveal which characters from melee would return. i can wait and be surprised on what characters will be new, but i know who is in melee and i want to see if they characters i didn't like will get the axe.

I just want to know if Sonic will or won't be in there, so it can stop bothering me. I especially want to see Sonic in the next trailer, maybe with Wolf or Krystal. Also would like to know if Mewtwo will return or not, but I doubt a trailer would reveal Mewtwo. Even Luigi was never revealed in a trailer, and we always knew he'd be in SSB64 and SSBM.

comon, thats offensive. just because bowser was bad in ssbm, he will be better in ssbb. i mean comon, sonic flashing on screen and owning the nintendo mascot and his main enemy, bowser? thats why i hate sonic fanboys, they expect some 3rd party character from a failing series to enter a nintendo game and "knock mario off", mario is the mario mascot! sonic is the mascot of a company that nintendo beat into dust

Oh come off it. It's a classic Arch-Rival entrance- The hero is about to finish off his nemisis, and the Rival steals the kill. Then the Hero gets annoyed, and the two charge at each other, and we cut to black.

My guess? There will be a new trailer at E3 2007. It will showcase several new characters, as well as showing off gameplay for all characters revealed before and during the video.

Then, in the final weeks before Brawl's release (probably Q4 2007 would be my guess), Sakurai will start updating the Dojo once a week with a new character. When the game is released, only a select few characters will still be secret. The day the game is released in Japan, several members from that country who visit here will update us on who the final characters that we haven't discovered are.

My reasoning for all this? It's what happened with Melee.

i'm not a Sonic fanboy. I just thought it would be cool Sonic getting the last laugh, or making an impact. I was thinking of having Mario creep back up then charge at Sonic and knock him off. But then that would destory Sonic's credibility.

Maybe seeing Mario and Sonic charge at eachother and then a blank screen would be good. Wont fire everyone up.

I'm a fan of the old days with Mario and Sonic.

I thought they held Spaceworld the year before last. I think Nintendo said they'll do it every other year or if there's enough stuff to be shown.

I actually think Brawl will have a March 2007 release. It's one of the favourites for the Wii and the most anticipated of them all. So they'll want to get it out ASAP. If they originally said Launch then moved it around, then chances are, they just got a few things to fix up, shouldn't take a year for that huh?

I just thought the first trailer was cool and i'm hoping they would continue with this way, or bring out a few extra names, instead of leaving us in the dark and having us make so many threads about each and every character and hearing pros and cons.

Nintendo never launches big titles outside of Q4. Because that's when advertising and the buyers' spending climate can culminate into the most profit.

Also Sakurai said after they revealed the trailer that it felt like they were still just beginning. A Project like Brawl, with 35-40 characters, and re-tooling all the returning cast would be a lot of labor to compress into 10 months, Not to mention they were still dipping into the fanbase for a few weeks after the announcement. A year and a half seems like a good timeframe to achieve perfection.

And considering this will probably be the last true Smash Bros., I'm willing to wait it out.

it'd be nice if they re-did the in-game intros. the *a new challenger is approaching* was nice and all... for the first game. but it's way stale and way boring. it'd be much cooler if they do something like they did with snake's newcomer intro, but for all the unlockable chars.

I had this idea:

We open like the first trailer: The old versions of DK, Ness, Yoshi and Fox come in, then they change into their new WII versions. There's some footage of them fighting, showing off items and attacks and supermoves (Ness: PSI Rockin', DK: Drums, etc.).

Then suddenly, Fox , Yoshi and Ness have DK cornered when suddenly out of the sky comes NEWCOMER DIDDY KONG (arriving by Jet pack) who proceeds to KO Ness and knock Fox sky high, but just when it looks like Fox is going to be KO'd, he is run into by the ship belonging to NEWCOMER: CAPTAIN OLIMAR (fox is then gone from the trailer). Olimar lands and joins the fray with Pikmin by his side. Then NEWCOMER: TOM NOOK runs into the battle, where he ends up setting off a bob-omb, sending all of the characters into another place.


Cut to DK, Yoshi, Diddy, Olimar and Nook waking up in a strange world. Yoshi is the first to get up to his feet, when he sees a tasty looking pellet of food. Just as Yoshi is about to chomp it up though it is grabbed away from his tongue's reach by NEWCOMER: PAC-MAN.

Fade to black.

As much as a new video would be cool, I dont think there is going to be one until it gets closer the release date. I hope they come up with some great ideas to introduce a few more characters.

If they release too many of the characters that are going to be on it though it wont be as much of a surprise when you find out the secret characters because you might of already known they were on the game.

Awesome ideas, I especially like the Sonic idea. About the complaints about Sonic beating up Bowser, I think that would still be really cool because remember Samus did the same thing with Pit and Meta Knight, so maybe Sonic would break up the fight sort of like that.

I think the intro should just be in Hyrule Field and there should be a huge funeral for the melee characters that couldnt make Brawl and everyone can cry. JK! :laugh: Yea Im not a big fan of unlockable characters being shown before the game is released. I kinda like a surprise. but i guess that didnt happen :ohwell:

*continuation of the last trailer* solid snake gets out of his box and runs off the stage.
mario, pikachu, zamus, link, kirby, meta knight, pit, and wario look at him strangely as he jumps off, only to find that there is a bomb planted on the stage, then the stage explodes to smitherines.
then he comes back on the ground and lands in pokemon stadium where people are cheering, "snake! snake! snake!" and the rest of the charaters fall off the pokestadium, and get ringed out.
then a giant lazer beam tries to shoot at snakes feet, but he barley dodges it! next thing, ray 01 comes jetting in and the screen reads "newcomer: ray 01"! he keeps on shooting at snake and snake falls off the arena! as ray does his victory pose, he notices mario and link, who where both hanging on the edge of the stadium. mario and link do a double team on ray and knock him out, but then, two blasts of fire come from the sky! its first bowser comes in on his koopa clown car, and then ridley flies in. then its a team battle! as the battle goes on it switches to a different scene!!

act 2: a mysterious pair of red boots is running along Station Square when suddenly the tornado(with tails and knuckles in it) comes flying in trying to catch up with sonic (think the sonic heroes scene) then tails says "wait up!" and sonic slightly slows down. then tails says "we found this letter for you!" and sonic jumps up and grabs it. the letter reads "dear sonic the hedgehog, you have been invited to the once-a-generation fighting tournament, super smash brothers. we wish you good luck."
sonic then says "alright! time to party!" and sonic runs off into the distance, while the tornado follows.

act 3: switches back to the scene where link, mario, bowser, and ridley are still fighting, but this time they are tired and worn out. then they run twards eachother, about to unleash a big attack, but then a blue stream comes out of the sky and knocks them all off. then the blue ball uncurls itself to reveal sonic the hedgehog! then the crowd screams "sonic! sonic! sonic!" then the a big "newcomer: sonic the hedgehog" pops up. while sonic is enjoying his victory, he is hit by a giant hammer! the owner of the hammer is revealed to be king dedede!
as sonic runs away and comes charging back with great force, the king deflects it with his hammer! then a giant meteor comes and flattens the king! the meteor breaks open and deoxys comes out!!! then it reads "newcomer: deoxys." deoxys is pitted against battle with sonic. at first sonic is losing, but then issac comes out! then a "newcomer: issac" pops out. issac uses ragnorok on the stage and it explodes causing all the people who got knocked out and the people who are still in to start flying in the air. as they regain consiousness from the blast, the dash through the air and charge at eachother! then the screen pauses and a "super smash bros brawl" logo appears. then the screen goes black and it reads "coming soon"

yah, its a bit far-fetched, but it is possible. and this is also really hinting off destructable stages.

I can actually imagining Pikachu crying, and Toad being used as Peach's handkerchief.

Then Bowser pops out of a Coffin, and does a laugh, and burns them all up.

With the success of the other 2, and the strong anticipation for Brawl, I don't see why the future is so bleak for Smash Brothers. It's got a great future.
It might be the only one for Wii, but i'm hoping to see it join DS or GBA.

i guess i will make my own version.

we hear the new music being added and see a new stage with snake, wario, pikachu, and mario fighting. we see a few new items and the return of old ones, then we catch a glimpse of the supers of snake, wario, and pika. then bowser, fox, and dk slam onto the ground leaving snake as the only fighter. we catch those 4 doing battle on 1 or 2 new stages. this all takes place within 30 sec.

then we see something flying in the air. As it closes in on the camera, it shows underneath it "Newcomer: Ridley". snake is gone and ridley battles bowser, fox, and dk. fox is getting pummeled by dk, then we see "Newcomer:Krystal" and she attempts to beat up dk with some moves of her own. then she sees fire above her head and we see "Newcomer:Diddy" and he displays some moves of his own. Now zamus comes in and we see her moveset. the only ones left now are ridley, diddy, krystal, and zamus. this would take up to 1 min and 30 sec.

out of nowhere, a rocket is fired at the stage and a whole punch of sand hits the stage. 2 men from opposite sides of the arena come to look at the carnage. one says "There can't be a battle unless we are here" and the other says "Mind if we join the fun?". the camera moves up and we see "Newcomer:Prince of Persia" and "Newcomer:Leon S. Kennedy" as it blacks out.

Sakurai has already stated on his poll that he would like to reveal all the characters before the game's release, for some reason that has to do with the fans being upset last time. I can't remember. But we'll know before we play the game, definitely.

Anyways, because I have nothing to do and it's ungodly hot outside...

We're left after the final scene in the E3 2006 trailer, as Link and Mario stand stunned at Snake's appearance. Snake says his line "It's showtime!," and he rolls out from under the box and starts beating up the two characters. They all exchange blows, and we can see Kirby in the background (he's there too, remember?), staring straight up at the sky. He runs off, and we can see a small speck of light come careening towards the arena. Snake looks up, and then so do Mario and Link, and they all run away as a big explosion appears in the center of the stage. We see a glowing Warpstar, and off steps NEWCOMER: KING DEDEDE. He gives a sly smile, and rears back his hammer to fight, but stops in mid-reach and looks behind him to see a sticky mine right on his back. Snake does his taunt and stands aside casually, while Mario and Link step backwards to get away. Dedede freaks out, and swallows Snake, spitting him off the stage and flinging the bomb after him. He quickly grabs Link and tosses him that way, and slams Mario with the hammer that way as well. The three explode, and Dedede does a little pose before the lights dim and a spotlight appears on the other side of the Battlefield. Out steps NEWCOMER: LITTLE MAC, the one and only. He waves to the crowd as they start cheering his name, and then proceeds to pull off a nasty punching combo on the giant penguin. Dedede flies off the side of the screen Kirby's Dreamland style, and Mac jumps and punches the air.

The screen fades, and we see a Japanese style castle appear. Out of the sky comes tumbling Link, who catches onto the side with his Hookshot. He pulls himself up, but right there towering above is the samurai in training, NEWCOMER: TAKAMARU. Takamaru grabs Link and tosses him over onto the floor, and the two have an epic sword battle of East meets West. It ends with the two dashing at one another, and, pure anime style, Takamaru is seen facing the screen up close, looks back, and we see Link flying off into the background once more.

The screen fades again, and now Mario plunders into a thick jungle. He looks around, and out of the trees leaps NEWCOMER: DIDDY KONG. Diddy recognizes Mario, and the two nod and laugh, but something else is there. Out of the bushes walks NEWCOMER: KRYSTAL, who doesn't take any time to introduce herself, as she is chased by NEWCOMER: RIDLEY! The three team up on the dragon, and an epic battle ensues. Ridley is KO'd, and the three pose and high five before the screen fades again.

Now we see Snake walking around a strange, dark castle corridor. There's lava everywhere, and he sidles around a corner. But as he does, we hear a deep, familiar laugh. Bowser is waiting for him, and attempts to scorch him with his firebreath. Snake leaps to the ceiling and hangs, climbing over just past the tyrant to hit the axe and send him plummeting into the lava. He smirks and pulls out his comlink to get out of there, when he sees something blaze by. He gives a face of "I wonder..." and follows it.

We now see Mario, Diddy, and Krystal exiting the forest, only to hear growling behind them. They stand back, and all we see is a shadow leaping towards them. Diddy pulls out his peanut popguns, and Krystal stands ready with her staff. Mario leaps in front, and sees an invitation fall to the ground. The shadow stands up and razzes the three, then leaps off Mario's head (all we see is the back) and runs away.

Snake finally returns to Battlefield, where Link, Samus, Pikachu, Kirby, Meta Knight and Pit are all standing around. He quickly ducks into the background again, as a speeding bullet blazes through, knocking all the players into the air. It then skids to a halt, and all we can see is the back, shadowed. "Where is he...? I've got the invitation this time"

The screen fades, and we see all the fighters fall through the air (and whoever else I was too lazy to include as well), then it ends with two, large shadows who will be yet revealed until unlocked: NEWCOMER: SONIC, and NEWCOMER: BONK.

Obviously with his kind of background, yes. But when has it actually happened or been said? Who did he kill? Not counting monsters he unleashed during the 7 years and all. Mewtwo killed the scientist on Cinnibar(sp?) Island, which we know that much. And Ganons backgrounds makes him seem like the killer type as well, but they never actually said who he might of killed (or did he kill Link's mother, I can't remember).

My version of a trailer:
It starts out like the other one but when Mario, Link, Kirby and Pika are about to do their zips the are blown away and we see Captain Falcon, DK, Fox and Ness they do their Zip things and show their modernisations. We see the 4 fighting in 2 new stages and we get a glance of Captain Falcon, Ness and Fox's supers then on a new stage a peanut hits DK in the back of the head then Diddy rams into DK and K.O.s him and "Newcomer Diddy" shows up then Diddy is about to shoot at Fox when he is hit by a red beam knocking him to the ground, Krystal jumps down and it says "Newcomer Krystal" Krystal and Diddy engage in battle red fire beams and peanuts are shooting everywhere when Ridley comes down and swoops up Krystal "Newcomer Ridley" they follow Ridley and end up on a new stage somewhere in a forest where we see a bird nest on the ground, Krystal manages to hit Ridley with her Ice Beam and freezes him they fall into the nest and Meowth pops out "Newcomer Meowth" followed by Mario. Mario gets in a battle with Meowth when a blue blur K.O.s Meowth away and takes his place in the battle "Newcomer Sonic" then a giant shadow covers Mario and Sonic they stop fighting and the rest come around to the shadow and a giant meteor comes and smashes into the ground it cracks open and you see a glimpse of Green and Orange then it says Super Smash Brothers Brawl Coming Soon.

Mine starts with fox, cap falcon, DK,and samus doing their morph thing...fox is last and after he morphs the black background becomes space and he hops in an arwing, the arwing fliesinto the screen and after it passes a new level (fox's new level) is shown and the 4 are seen fighting...it zeros in on fox and samus fighting when a wolfen arises form the back ground, it zooms in to revel NEWCOMER WOLF jumping out. (Samus is now gone)Wolf and fox then engage in battle, and you hear wolf say Im gonna tan your hide pup...or something like that....the screen zooms into wolfs eyepatch until its darkness, you then see the 4 fighting on a new big blue (or cap falc level , with cars on track) the battle then zooms in on cap and Dk fighting (fox and wolf r now gone) falcon finishes dK off by throwing him into the track , as falcons doing his taunt a newcomer arises form the racer behind him NEWCOMER SAMURAIAH GORoh (or wutever) it shows the two battleing on the same stage when it rolls to a cinematic of samurah and falcon jumping into their racers mid battle and zooming off, their raming eachother going at extreme speeds when you see the side view of captain falcons racer and falcons licking his lips, a blue blur passes his racer and he gets a shocked look on his face....The trailer then ends.
