It's been a while and i still haven't done shouts...

First of all,

I love Mike G.!!!! Thanks for the vs. Marth advice, it's retarded how well it works

My crew- Yous guys rawk. What more can I say. Brandon, good **** in doubles, we'll do better next time :bigthumbu

To all of those oos dudes who had INN IV as there first tournament- I hope you guys see this.... Anyways, you guys should really come to more tournaments, it's the coolest friggin hobby you'll ever have. Keep playin smash and come back to Memphis, we're not short on that southern hospitality.

@Don't Make Last- didn't play you guys much this time around, i'll catch yaz at my tournament or some bi-weeklies.

@Iori- Your mouth gets you in trouble sometimes but you're a good dude and you're crazy good in smash. Keep up the good competition.

@Kyo- Chu rawk too son. Can't wait to play your Zelda again.

Mathos n Bushman- You guys are too funny. Fun playing you guys in doubles at Fizz's place. I didn't get to play Mothos in singles at all...that sucked. I did get alot of ganon from Joe though :bigthumbu which I appreciate. Memphiis <3's the COK!!!

@TakeTwo- Cow suit.

@GA_Wes- You're a good dude too. I know we'll be seeing each other again at some tournament one way or another...

@Darkrain, Z, Phatgamer, and Jesi- You guys are cool as hell. I won't forget my DS at the next tournament that we'll be at together. I'll win out that machine again at the next INN

I'll finish up later...

Thank you to everyone who made my first tournament a wonderful experience I will never forget! :chuckle:

I will definitely be back for the next INN, hopefully I'll be able to make it to a biweekly first.

5.) Definitely no longer considered local. I would say solid regional (hopefully INN V will take national!)

Oh yeah this had outgrown local status at Inn3. Now its at the level of Regional Phenomenon. Just like my catch phrase for INN5 said. HAHA!

I love Run7!

I love you too. Those shade were destined to find you. Little Mac for Brawl.

<3 Mike
<3 Wes

Thanks for that friendly btw Wes - even though my tourney matches weren't all that great, it made me feel really good about my game seeing me only get 2 stocked instead of 4 :)

One of these days...!

INN IV was definitely the best yet. I was thinking today on how great it actually was...

Top 5 reasons I think INNsomnia IV was so sexy (in no particular order):

1.) Biggest pot ever. Singles winner takes home $1,001

2.) Biggest attendance ever for both total people (80+) and number of entries in singles (62)

3.) Fastest completed. We were "officially" done at 1:00am, instead of the usual 3-4am. (I blame Kish's sexy idea for pools :bigthumbu )

4.) Largest Pizza Inn after party.

5.) Definitely no longer considered local. I would say solid regional (hopefully INN V will take national!)

------------------------------------

Zero - Zane's Stupid Rule did not get enforced at this tournament due to too many *** kickings going on causing distraction. Be prepared for it to be enforced at the Biweeklies though :P

I think that 6 person pools would be better, I didn't like 4 with only two people from each getting eliminated.

Also, you forgot about mentioning Darkrain's IRL knee as why it was better than other Inns ;D

Actual shout outs to come, running outta Laptop Battery!

Yeah, I liked the six person pools more. ^_^

PrinceZane

Yeah, 6 people are better for playing, but the 4 person made the pools go by exponentially faster.

Basically we can have 16 pools and 2 advance and pools finish quicker, or we can have 8 pools and 4 advance and pools take longer.

Anything else makes the pools weird (i.e. some pools would have 3 advance, others 4... then people would get upset b/c their pool wasn't one with the more adancing, etc etc)

I agree that the former does indeed make the pools go faster, but I think the latter would help with more accurate seeding. Then again, I didn't put much thought into this. *shrug* Oh well.

That's not to say that I thought this tournament's seeding wasn't good. I thought it was.

Cept you guys are looking at it backwards. Pools are made # of people / # of pools. Not # of people / # of people per pool

The people who advanced didn't even get seeded. Whether you made it out in the first or second seed didn't matter at INN4.

The fast pools were a good idea.

What do you mean? I thought the term seeded was meant just to be put on the bracket, whether you're as one of the top players or one of the lower players.

Edit: I've come to learn that the people who advanced were randomly matched up in the bracket, so nevermind.

Finally time for shoutouts.

Zane- Always a great tournament, I hope that we can keep topping attendance each year. I'm looking forward to INN V.

Mike G- Nite <3's Mike G. I haven't played you in singles yet, but I have to sometime. Great job in doubles man. Oh you guys raped me on FD. Darkwing Duck ftw!

Darkrain- Congrats on winning first in singles and doubles. You're a really cool guy. I loved watching you destroy Iori with a Darkrain combo every stock. That was crazy sh*t man!

Jesi- Good to see that you made it back to Memphis. It was good hanging out with you guys again. I'll make sure to bring my DS to INN V so that I can play with you sometime. Lol.

Z- I finally got to play you this time. You've got a good Sheik. Next tournament that we meet, I'll give you bunches of Falco training. Great to see you back man.

Phat- I don't know many people that can say they've had a bear hug from Phatgamer, but I can. Haha! Keep it up, your Sheik is good.

Run7- I love you guys. There isn't much more to say than that. Lance, I'm sorry that I wasn't doing well in doubles. I'll try my best to be warmed up next time. You were performing very well, if I was doing the same I think we could have placed higher.

Drumma Boi, Rice, RAM, and Kerrel- It was fun housing you guys. I had a blast those two nights. Rice, keep playing with Falco. It's crazy technical, but you need to work on your mindgames. RAM, that Luigi is sick man. Keep it up. I hope to see you guys back next time.

Mathos and Joe Bushman111- You guys are great. Very funny as well. Mathos, thanks for the compliments on my Falco. Hopefully we can get some dittos sometime. Joe Bushman, it sucks that we had to play first round, but it was great playing a good Ganon. I've never played a good Ganon and now I know not to pick Falco. I wish that there was a Ganon like yours around here. Good stuff guys. I hope that COK makes a return for INN V.

Kishsquared and Joshu- I didn't expect you guys to come, but it was awesome seeing you guys there. Great job to both of you. Something made me feel better about getting 9th again though. I overheard Kishsquared, "Boy, that Nite kid was raging." :) Thanks man.

GAwes- I'm glad to see that you came. I didn't get to play you in singles, but your Zelda raped me in low tier. It's good that we made it out of that retarded pool. I wanted to see us both make it to the brackets. You and that level 9 will take INN V.

Thief- You got the best of me in the loser's bracket. Congrats man. Makes up for the win at the bi weekly. 1-1. Lets keep this rivalry up.

Moogle- Kupo! I see that you are still owning people at Smash 64. You are crazy son. Glad to see that you came. Low tiers were fun. You're a good dude.

Iori- You were so nice at the last bi weekly. What happened? I agree that you are very good, but your mouth gets you into trouble sometimes. Relax man, Smash is for fun.

I saw Gregory P. at the tournament. I'll say that it made my day.

Anyone that I missed, I hope that you guys had a good time at the tournament and you are more than welcome to come back to the next one.

I'm finally doing shoutouts now >_>

No particular order ONLY past Zane, because we all know Zane belongs at the top =P

Zane- Thanks once again for hosting such a kick@ss tourny! INN keeps getting more and more popular :chuckle:

TakeTwo- I don't know if you even entered singles or not...but you and Deeber had a huge crowd during the soul/mom/car/shirt/etc. matches! That was some of the funniest crap I've ever seen.

Deeber- Funny as hell as usual  . TakeTwo should stop betting stuff against you... the supreme master of Super Sudden Death + Bombs. Congrats on your new possessions!

Mike G- <3. Your Peach is a beast...I think you 3 stocked me twice in pools haha. Grats on taking doubles!

Darkrain- Freaking amazing to watch you play...watching you destroy Iori 20+ times was entertaining to say the least. I wanted to play you to get some Falcon training in (I don't get hardly any..) but Iori was hogging you =X. Haha, grats on taking home all that cash from doubles and singles! And DAYUM that was one fine knee on the table! Now I see why you're so powerful.

SmashterLink- Thanks for teaming up with me, it was a heluva lot of fun heh. Low Tier FTW! If we had practiced more, you know we would've taken it all the way!

Rest of Run7- I didn't play you guys much, we'll have to get matches in at the bi-weeklies and at Lance's tourny!

RAM- Your Luigi owns man, jeezus..nice job taking 2nd in low tier!

GAWes- Whomg nice Zelda, toes everywhere!

Sorry if I forget someone, but if I remember I'll edit this post...but dayum I had so much fun at this tourny...CANT WAIT FOR INN V.

Inn V for October would be rockin'! Don't make us wait too long Zane!!!!

That tourney was a blast, everyone there was super nice and I actually didn't do too bad!

Nite & Lance, thanks for the training in team before the tourney... we still got stomped in tourney, but playing beforehand was a blast and you both are cool guys, it was a pleasure meeting you both.

Lvl 9, great meeting you too man. Did I hear right that you won't be at any more tourneys? That really sucks man, hopefully I'll cya sometime before you leave.

Ace, cool seeing you again man! I still can't beat your marth, but I'll work on it... lol

Darkrain, who hasn't given you a shoutout yet? Lol, congrats on your win man, we had an amazing first match in brackets on FoD. I almost had you! You're going down next time ;)

Spaceballs- awesome games man, I made some huge mistakes on character and level picking those last 2 rounds we played. Hopefully I won't make the same mistake haha. Great games again, I love your Samus and I hope I can get some revenge next tourney ^_^

Zane, great job running the tourney... DEFINITELY looking forward to the next one!

Shoutouts

Zane: I finally found out who you were lol

Brandon: Thanks for the housing and compliments, i really do need to work on my mindgames :(. You got hella better than last time i saw you, Ill try to get just as good and faster !

Chad: You had a hella nice Pikachu, im sorry for taking that match from you, from you SD'ing.

Theif: Close first round, you just totally raped me 2nd round. But i had fun breaking your shield from full strength to nothing with pillaring. You said you couldn't jump out or roll, or sheild grab right? :) That makes me feel even better. Keep working it.

Mike G, you prolly don't know who i am. but bleh, you keep copying me. Last INN i had a bigger afro then you. Then this time you wore a hat just like me. Anyways it was nice playing your doc, you could read my playstyle ****ing fast, i was suprised.

And Brandon, i think that was the last INN for me.....college time =\

My thanks; it's nice to know that someone thinks I'm proficient. I try; I like the thrill of maining characters that are generally known to fail at life. I think I would have done much better in the actual tourney if I wasn't so scared that I used strictly Ganon. Next time it'll be straight Bottom Tier, I promise. (I'm better with them anyway. ;) )

Oh, and RAM gave a shoutout, too. The same heartfelt thanks to you, and anyone else that at least remembers me.

I'll do shoutouts tomorrow or this weekend, though; I should be doing something else right now. =)

Alright, here's some quick shout outs, so if I forget ya it's because of that.

Zane: Great tournament as always, very proficiently run. I'm not a huge fan of 4 people pools, but that didn't keep me out this time so whatever ;D

Fizz: We actually got to talk and play some for once, word. Thanks a ton for housing us!

Rachel(even though she probably won't see it): Thanks for letting us invade your room, and that Naruto hat is just about the coolest hat ever.

Fizz's mom(once again, won't see it): I didn't get to thank you again before I left, so thanks a ton for letting us invade your house. And for the pizza/drinks.

Skoot/Brad/Zero: Good hanging with you guys at Fizz's house, I'm glad I actually got to chill with Run7 some, instead of just sparsely talking at the tournaments.

Bushman and Mathos: Great to see you again (Mathos) and good to meet you Bushman, though I probably talked to you for like a minute at SAVII. Good games at FIzz's house, teams and whatnot. Crazy *** Gannon man, well done. You're a sniper with tha Bair.

Mike G: HAH! I finally got you once, good games. Good seeing you again man, as always. Ghost ride the whip!

Darkrain: Hey! I finally got to play you. some, good matches man. Congratulations on the tournament, and kneeing the **** out of the table. Good to actually get to talk to you some.

Chad: Good to see ya again man, good games in low tier.

Ram/Momo/Floridians: I didn't get to chill with you guys much, but good to see you guys again. Good matches to the Floridians I played.

Nite: Gotcha back! Though winning to get 7th instead of 9th is a lot less clutch than first and 2nd. Good games though, you rocked me the first game.

Camron: Great to see you again man, good luck getting a job ;D

Kyo: You rocked my face, good job. I'll get you back though, I need a revenge hitlist :)

Iori: Good matches, you got the better of me slightly, I'll have to get you back.

Reflex: Good to see you again man, I can't thank you enough for bringing Puzzle League. Good games on that, I'll get you next time. I'll practice up some.

I'm too worn out to think anymore, anyone I forgot I'm sorry.

Nod... Reflex's Bowser was mad wicked.

I just got my schedule for Sept/October and looks like I've got Sun/Mon off.

Might be able to run something umm late October at the earliest. I'm think maybe then, or November for INN V.

I don't think you need to do it as early as possible. I think you need to space it enough to cause build up making more people want to come and give time for new people a chance to hear about it. If you have INN too close together then people won't be able to come to them and attendance will drop. Like most big tournaments are once or twice a year. Just a thought to preserve the tournament I love the most.

I ****ing love that it has been quarterly!

PrinceZane
08-05-2006, 04:37 AM
Brad/Thief - Yeah, that's the argument I've been having with myself.

Quarterly = more smash, more pwnage

Annually = less smash, but bigger hype

I dunno... *ponders*

nikePK
08-05-2006, 10:12 AM
quarterly for sure! The more its done and the more its advertised, the more new people will get into it. Plus, by this upcoming fifth time, everyone should know this is a "Must-Play" tourney. I don't think attendance will suffer much if at all.

What you can do is of course hype up each tourney, but really go all out for the summer one since I think more out of state people are willing to drive in the summer (but not winter as much cuz of snow and whatnot). I know that if its quarterly I'll definitely attend every one AND bring friends along.

Anyway, enough rambling, my vote is for quarterly ^_^
