View Full Version : Pokemon Recovery Moves
Pokemon recovery moves
Melee
(none) Jigglypuff
Quick Attack (pikachu)
Teleport (Mewtwo)
Probable in Brawl
Sky Uppercut (Blaziken)
Hi Jump Kick (Lucario)
Psycho Boost (Deoxys)
Other possible moves.
Fly (yawn...)
Baton Pass (This one would be interesting...)
Can people think of other Pokemon moves that imply a change in location, sutable for an ^B? Not nessisarally for a specific pokemon (Remember, the more unique, the better)

<delete please>
I dunno... Slash is typically depicted as a "koopa claw" like swipe. Comparing it to the mechanics for Sky Uppercut seems rather forced.

Also why do you have Balizken as likely and Meowth not, Blaizken is a starter and Meowth is more likely.
I have Sky Uppercut as likely, not Blaziken. I'm working this from the other direction.

Oh ok, I had an ok Meowth B ^ in one of my movesets, also is there anyway I can view that old spam topic because there was a huge thing there.
I'm afraid not. There WAS a separate topic in the melee room just for movesets, though, and THAT's still around, so if you put it in that topic as well, it shuld be recoverable.
EDIT: here it is...

**** I didn't, I'll try and dig it up from somewhere else I posted it.
Someone suggested Gust when I posted this on Nsider...
Gust: Wind blows player in direction aimed and anyone who is caught in the Gust get pushed in that direction (no damage).

Xtremespeed maybe, it would be kinda like Fox and Falco's illusion moves.

invisibility (for legends like mew)
the character becomes invisible as long as u are holding B. as you are holding B the character would become invisible and be able to go wherever you point the control stick farely fastly, although you can still be hit while you are invisible. this attack would last for max 3 secs .

Invisibility isn't a pokemon tech is it?

Never played Pokemon snap.
But meh, could work.
Ok, what about horn drill?
WHY THE HELL DOESN'T MEWTWO HAVE PSYCHIC?
ISN'T THAT LIKE, HIS BEST MOVE!?
As a matter of fact, I don't see how that move could be unbroken.

i think psychic is like his back throw and stuff like that, and just whenever he picks up items (with his mind) horn drill would be a really slow 1 ko move that wouldnt be sued for recovery.

Ok, what about body slam!
Like Bowser and Yoshi (But not Kirby, his doesn't jump) with their down Bs,
a Pokémon could jump up into the air and crash down (with the abilitiy to grab ledges)
Like Kirby's upB. It would be directable in the air too, so it would make a god upB.
It can even make you jump when in the air, but not as high, and perhaps more
manouverable (depending on the Pokémon). Dragonite COULD learn body slam,
but it was more famously used by Snorlax and Crash Bandicoot.

I don't think being a starter makes her less likely, in fact it makes her more likely IMO seeing as she's the most populary starter with the highest fan base amoung other things. And I still don't see Meowth getting in.
And Im still on the ropes about high jump kick for Lucario. . .the last thing we need is a character that hurts it's self seeing how much people hate Pichu but IDK.
I have to think about it for a well before I go deeper. . .
Let's not start up that debate again. This topic is about moves, not pokepon themselves.
And BlackLight, High Jump Kick could be angled to cover more distance than Zelda's recovery, with a continuous hitbox the entire time. That kind of recovery (read, able to recover from shinespikes CONSISTANTLY) needs SOME kind of drawback... and I set it up so Sweetspotting cancels the damage.

Hummm. . . .That seems to make sense. If it's a super good recovery attack than just using it to recover, without hitting someone, should have some drawback to it. That lil bit of damage would make recovering harder after you miss a target.
. . . .And at least it's not guaranteed that you will take damage( Like with SOME pokemon. . .) because if you have enuff skill to hit your target you bypass the drawback.
Sounds O.K to me ^_^
