I remember when people talked about smash.

So I was kickin' primo these mad tight L-cancels with Fox against mah main man C. Fizzle and knocked that bizzatch off the ledge. Decided I'd 'splode that mutha with a hella fresh Shine spike. I get it goin', the brotha gets knocked into the side of the stage, walltechs up and stomps me down, messin' mah **** up all ovah. That **** was craayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyzeh.

True story.

Falcon can't wall tech after a shine. Sure it was Falcon? Sure it was a shine spike?

*Is probably horribly mistaken*

Can't everyone wall tech from a shine? :/

Blazey
04-09-2007, 10:29 PM
It was probably someone else, then. But seriously, I shined someone into the side of the stage, they wallteched and meteored me down when I didn't shine cancel properly. Can't remember who it is, I just used Falcon because his name translates nicely into "izzle" speak.

There's now just a little under 2 months until the tournament, and it's gonna come alot sooner than you'd expect. So I figured it's best to start planning for the event now, before things start getting mad crazy in June. I'd like the Victorian community to try and help me with the following:

Finding a venue
Attendances are still growing from the original Comrades, and it would be nice to have other people help me out securing a venue for the tournament. If anyone has any cost-effective and convenient ideas and suggestions, please post here and contact me. Obviously the cheaper/free the better, I hope someone can help me out before I'm forced to spend ridiculous amounts on a venue. I'd like to get this nailed down a month before the tournament starts.

Accomodation
I would like someone to be in charge of this, and I especially want to gauge interest for Interstaters who want hostel group accomodation in the city. Much like @M, we can rent out a dorm of beds for the long weekend. It's much more fun when everyone is housed together in the center of town. So if anyone wants to be housed this way, let me know, and hopefully someone here can be tasked with arranging a hostel. Otherwise, I'll be starting the usual housing roster for people who want to be housed with smashers in the outlying suburbia.

TV's, Gamecubes/Wiis, SSBM Discs, Memory Cards
Anyone who can bring these please post and let me know what you're bringing and how much of it you're bringing. As time goes by if I'm not satisfied with the response, I'll resort to more nagging. So please help out, Vics are generally pretty good with this in the end, so it's not high on my worry list. :)

Drivers
Hopefully drivers won't be as necessary as the original Comrades, if we can secure a venue with easy public transport. But a few would still be needed to help with logistics, such as tv's and carpooling. if you can help here, post/let me know.

________________________________________________

Pre-Registration
Anyone attending this, please post here and let everyone know (if they dont already know), so I can add your name to an attendance list. Also specify if you require housing, and if so, if you want to be housed with a smasher or chip in for hostel accomodation.

In other news, I'll begin vamping up the first post with all the usual necessary info.

Cheerio.

Okies, I will bring a TV, Wii, smash, memory card and a controler (maybe two just in case).
I also drive a manly man car so I can carpool a bit (some poeple wont be able to handle its manlyness). Also I do have a spare room but I be asking the oldies first as they paid for the house in the first place. :chuckle:

I'll bring a cube + smash + memory.

I am up for a hostel idea. One problem which I always find is no one ever wants to travel around Melbourne. Its expensive and smelly. So this solves the issue.
Being together all at once would be a very fun and exciting experience. I am sure a lot of stupidity will occur.

Prices are usually around $20-25 a night I assume?

Cube + Smash + maybe a memory if I can get G&W back after the third memory corruption.

BTW Forblaze, I think I got a hemorrhage reading that

I'll be sure to give you this the next time I see you:

Oh wait...

I'll be bringing my cube+smash+memcard as I have done in the past.

I'll bring Cube, Smash and Memory if I come.

I too am up for the hostel idea. But what's the cost of it?

Me and jaz looked for ages for places and found heaps but they were all booked out till late march or something, crraaazzzyyy. If you want one you'll have to book like 2-3 weeks in advance.

rmusgrave
04-11-2007, 01:37 AM
As most people say, I'll bring Wii, Smash, Memory if I come.

Hostel idea is teh cool. Especially if 3 perthites come, cos I don't think CATS could house us all, and splitting up is teh uncool.

I can drive, but I ain't bringing my car, so if you can acquire a car for meh to drive then I can participate in this driving thing.

how much is a plane ticket from sydney to melbourne?

CAOTIC
04-11-2007, 02:18 AM
The cheapest airport to fly to is Avalon ($158 return). Flying to Tullamarine will costs about $210 return, but is more convenient. Prices change all the time, so you gotta check frequently for sale fares, although prices get more expensive the more you delay your purchase. It's possible to hunt for fares as low as $70 return if you're lucky.

EDIT - 1st post revamped. :)

Dedu

Heh I even found a plane ticket price through Virgin Airlines that was like $65 single XD. Talk about cheapness. The best solution to cheap tickets is to order them as early as possible that way you don't have to buy a >= $200 ticket the weekend before the event. Just about refuted Cao's statement.

WTF U found a $70 return ticket? ALERT ALL BASES! Where did u find it?

Just read first page. I'm all for either hostel/housing accomodations. Heard Mystwalker housed > 10 ppl rite? Or was that a rumour?

Will bring GC, Smash and Mem card. And DS for multiplayer games between long smash battles. Last time was fun!

You sound like Rove, Mic. It was an interesting listen and had a nice debate on items. You should be a permanent member of the cast; you didn't seem out of place or anything (except for the sexy, sexy accent which only made the cast better). Also, with the Irish thing, you should've said "fiddle dee-dee, potaters" xD.

BTW, how were all your voices recorded? What I mean is, it sounded like you and KiKi were in the same room =/.

Mic_128

Note teh me self, be more Irish, yatta dee yatta dah.

We used Skype, a type of online MSN-phone thingy, pretty cool, like a voice MSN but can be used to call real phones. We did a 3 way conference call, we each recorded what we said on our own computer using a recording program called Audacity, then we just send Kiki our recorded speach and he sticks it together.

I sound like Rove? What the?

Lol Mic you do sound like Rove, next time at the end of the cast say "say hi to your mum for me", lol only the aussies will get it and the rest of the world will be like "What the ?" (he he he he, Im so funny).

Also I want your autograph, screw Ken. :chuckle:

Ok, been looking at my options with Quetzalcoatl.

Quetz will be working the day before the tournament, which basically makes it pretty impossible for him to come. Also, the Monday public holiday you guys get we don't get, so that pretty much disqualifies him from coming.

As for me, I'm thinking of leaving Friday morning and leaving Sunday, but that's assuming I don't have an exam on Friday or Monday.

More updates later.

OK, guys it is very likely I am driving down to Melbourne.
I totally want in on the football (AFL).

People from Queensland, NSW or Balarat ( ;) ) can get a lift easy enough.
Please get in contact with me as soon as possible by phone, email, AIM.

ANd I won't charge much, $50 one-way, cheaper than flying, I say.
Cept, you've got to put up with me in da car. :psycho:

I am following up by going to Tassie, follow me there, anyone who wants.

See ya all round

Driving, eh? How long will that take?
And this is June 9th... lemme go check...

<_<;; Oh, gay, school's still on during the ENTIRE week of that week.
So I guess I can't come either way.
Hahahah~! School is lamezorz.

Edit:

... Hmm... I think it was a good thing that I came online this early today.
Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday (public Holiday)... 1 day off school?
Seems good enough to me.
Up to Bob if he doesn't mind having another person in the car, though?
And don't you want someone else who can drive as well, Bob, so you're not the ONLY person driving for like... however long it takes. x_X;;
Aaron can drive, right? Hahah.

$50? I could so get that money. =]

Oh but then I need money for other stuff as well.
Supposedly $250?
Hoo... that might not be happening. Lol!

Edit 2:

Lol OOOKAAAYYY... Tristan won't stfu about knowing everything on MSN.
So Aaron WILL be able to drive by then.
If that's ok with Aaron.

I'll need a shower before I go, seriously. So if I wake up late or something...
You guys're waiting. XD <3

1. My car has no air-conditioing (although it will be winter by then)

2. Aaron can only drive automatics.

3. I'm not driving down then heading back on the Sunday, Kasper.
Unless you fly back, which is still quite on option.
Its easy to book flights on the day, although of course some prior research beforehand is better.
We'll work it out.

Sirias
04-21-2007, 12:19 AM
Doesn't matter about air-conditioning, since leaving the windows down is good enough, ya.
And oooh... =/ Lame-o. Manuals are better to drive anyway, although you have the lovely chance of stalling. Heh.
When're you heading back? Doesn't matter how long it takes before you head back anyway. I can take 1 or 2 days off school.
And flying back? <_<;; I hate planes. Lol.
We'll see we'll see.

Edit:

Oh ma gurr! Stop calling me Kasper! Aaahhh! > <;

Venue update - I've spoken to L0ki, and he has generously considered opening up La Trobe for the tournament, granted it passes through his anime club. It's not for certain yet, and it won't be in the same rooms either, but stick around for updates.
