*Waves Hawthorn flag*

Yay 3-1. ^_^ har har har.

Venue update - I've spoken to L0ki, and he has generously considered opening up La Trobe for the tournament, granted it passes through his anime club. It's not for certain yet, and it won't be in the same rooms either, but stick around for updates.

We're the happy team at Hawthorn... I'm not going to question why we're doing good. I'm just going to enjoy it. Next lets hope we claim the Bulldogs scalp. 4-1 would be awesome.

And that would be awesome for a venue. I look forward to hearing more about it.

Um, really bad news for me people.
I will most likly not be comming. The two as$holes at work were fired today for sexual harassment so now we are two bakers short so that means there are only two bakers left.
In the short term I will only be getting mondays off and because of what has happend I dare not ask for any other days off.

Hopefully the expelled bakers will have replacements, pronto. Will miss you there Adam.

Wow, in a shocking move I may have convinced about some Bendigo Smashers to come down.

That sucks Adam, maybe something super special awesome will happen before then and then you'll be able to come...

We need more Bakers!
:(

Hmm, now this is based off something someone up here rnadomly said (probably weren't being serious (Plus it was against Tassie, but that can't happen...(WTF who puts brackets IN brackets!) ) )
BUT I propose an eating crew battle!
After Smash of course.
How would this work, i have no idea.
As an idea, maybe choose 5 people, and there is like 5 "catogries (again i'm just thinking an examlpe) say, Pizza, lollies, plates of sizzer, etc, etc.
If you spew, its an instant loss.
No one should go that crazy anyway.
Team with the most victorys wins!

I also propose Luna Park!
On da Mondey (if its open), otherwise maybe Tuseday.

Should be good, regardless.

How about a polony and chocolate biscuit eating contest? >_>

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bologna_sausage

A similar sausage is known in Australia variably as Devon, fritz, belgium, luncheon, or polony. Which name is used is dependent on which state one is in.

CAOTIC

I think we should make it a FAST eating competition, not a whose gonna spew first kind of one. Like who can eat the most polonies in 2 minutes (we call them belgian).

If Niven provides the polonies, I'll provide the contest! i'll think about prizes too! If noone brings food, I might just have to bring in something NAASSSSTY to compensate, cus if we have a polonies contest, Niven's gonna eat his way to victory... >.>

and we can't have that.

(and thanks Ninhonjin for stickying this <3<3<3)

PS DJ - Luna Park sounds fun to me and thanks for your ideas :)

lol @ polonies.

I'm pretty sure the plural for polony is just polony, in the same manner as fish or sheep. =/

Here in WA, you can get 1kg rolls of polony for $4-5 each (they look like meat logs wrapped in plastic) so we could see who can finish one first. ^_^

lol polonies... i remember when i was on clinical placement, a patient presented himself with a devon sausage lodged up his rectum. his excuse was something along the lines of falling on it -_-" anyway, in theatre, each time the surgeon managed to pull the devon sausage out a bit, he'd cut it into slices with the scalpel. sandwiches anyone? haha

LOL That stuff apparently happens a whole lot!
Niven - you're wrong silly...plural fish is fishies, and plural sheep is sheepers :)

I read competitive eating as competitive heating. Thought it was some new smash tournament term/format.

*Useless post, but that's how my count is so high!*

EDIT: Looks like this post isn't so useless.

I have an exam on the 11th, at 9am. This will make things more difficult, but I still plan to come.

Hello. I'm a Melbournian and not a very good smasher but would like to enter to see how I stack up. I'm not serious and will likely die in the first round but would like to do so simply because I have very few human opponents and would like a change. I'd just like to ask if the tournament welcomes amateurs like me or if you'd prefer only people really serious about smash enter.

Definitely coming, even if it's only to spectate.

CAOTIC
05-03-2007, 04:40 AM
Suppp, BlackWhiteOrange.

I invite everyone to enter the tournament, no matter if you're an amateur or a pro. It's a good opportunity to see or play some good Smashers and we're always wanting the scene to grow. These tournaments always attract both, so you won't be alone.

Melbourne has monthly tournaments that are less serious in nature, but are there to help people improve; there's one on May 19 at La Trobe if you're interesting in seeing how the local competition stacks up.

HOSTEL IDEA:

Sloth and I have come up with the idea of a group of outer state smashers, renting out a hostel for this trip to melbourne, that way we're mostly located in the middle of melb and access to everything will be much easier and cheaper, we were even considering renting tvs...

costs, location numbers have not been worked out but i can safely assume that Sloth an I are participating in the idea

it would be ideal, if we could get a large dorm and have lots of smash

anyway who is interested, cao will probably add this idea to the front page, so voice out people!

Jetstar has a fly a friend deal for $3 extra, but last time I checked flights offered weren't to Melbourne - but feel free to prove me wrong =)

Thanks to Loki, we've been allowed to book Glenn College for Comrades 2 - this is confirmed - but the room won't be the same ones used for the Monthlies. I'll edit location info as it comes forward

Trying to get the Davidson Room (were stg. 04 will also be held)

CREW BATTLE DISCUSSION!

I think it'll be safe to say QLD and NSW will have enough skill and numbers to make a crew battle, so we should make it a three way crew battle for supremacy! It should be done so that the smallest of the States should be matched in numbers (if they bring at least 5). Hopefully there will be around 6-7 per team.

I also need the states to nominate captains (if any), and their teams, not their lineup.

Shaz and I already have the best plan ever LOL

The room is confirmed, it's the Davidson Room in the same complex, and it's asimilar size to the one we currently use in the Monthlies except it's more square. In other words, a massive room with a projector.

Thanks Loki ^__________^
