this is how it went down

I've booked a 6 room en suite for Myself, Niven, the 2 kiwis, Xeno and cactar, we can switch around with people anyway, but that is definetly booked
then i booked two rooms four beds to each, for the Saturday Sunday and Monday, which people can disperse among themselves, all of these rooms, next to each other on the same floor.

it will be $18 per person per night, and you'll be expected to pay as soon as you get in there obviously

i concede defeat vs. australia since its been done before - austars repeat dont really mean much to me cus i know we cant stand up to the best of all the states combined. what id appreciate is a start to attempt a nsw vs qld vs vic rivallry with real regional crews. the remainder of the ppl can form additional crews nz/tas/wa/sa/ca

besides, you should consider making the most of a challenge like vic decided in january - even though ppl from vic knew aus were too strong - back down we did not. you may gain another perspective of playing if you accept the challenge - but your original choice stands should you field less than 5 people

other opinions on the matter are appreciated

Personally, I love to have a challenge, but out right annihilation isn't exactly fun.

If we did the All-Star crew vrs Melb it would be a turn around from last. As in, we don't have Bringer + Radiance + Triss, whilst before you were missing people like Emily.
So we would be the underdog.

For the other ideas, state representation can always be entertaining, but without the full force to represent it loses its meaning.

I like the idea of our own mix crews. I know I'd love to be on a crew with people like Freddo and KK. With interesting names and back stories, it would be cool :)

Unban wobbling! Not that I play IC, but it's such a cool technique it should be allowed.. ;)
I mean, on that logic, why not ban Marth's f-throw > f-smash..? both are avoidable but both are lethal..

Because Marth's f-throw => f-smash is a linear combo. You f-throw, then you f-smash, the opponent flies away and the match continues. Wobbling is a loop that can be used to stall a match for an unnecessary amount of time.

Anyway, I don't think Cao banned it, I think he just limited its use to 200% damage before it needs to end.

What will happen in Australia once Brawl comes out?
Not much, or alot of retirement?

I've been pondering this a while, and I think we'll see a SSBM resurgence, but also alot of retiring players. 5-6 years worth of devotion to one game is enough I think.

I think people around my age (17) will be leading the way in holding new tournaments, and introducing n00bs to competitive smash. People who have been with smash for a while, but not long enough ^.^

Unless all of the top players plan on playing through the Brawl era as well.

Although I'm unsure about the status of the ban on Wobbling, I think it's just as fair as allowing it. Plus, Cao has the right to do just about anything to the tournament rules, as he's host. Why, look at how SEAT2 went, and it had weird rules.

Technically, the big difference between Wobbling and Marth's f-throw to f-smash is that if you know what you're doing, you can avoid f-throw to f-smash even if you get grabbed. Wobbling is a situation where you make a mistake at 20% while Nana and Popo are both able to get to you in time, then you die guaranteed. It's also unlike the Fox infinites, as they are too technical to be relied on and are usually punished.

At any rate, this tournament will be significantly less sexy than any previous tournament I have been to, but the sexiness will still be too much for the average person to bear.

EDIT: That last part was badly worded. What I mean is that, without me, the tournament loses sexiness. ^+^
