Doubtful unless Brawl is better.. and at least as complicated.
We play Melee so much because its infinitely complex.. if you look at Perfect Control, you can see that Neo / Matrix levels of skill are possible -- and very far out there. There's literally unlimited chance of improvement.
If DIing is nerfed, stun timers increased and spam increased, <i>Brawl will not be very fun</i>. That being said, if it's as complicated as Melee.. it will be excellent and I'd suspect most players move over to it to study permanently. (At least until Smash IV comes out.)
You can input controls 60 times a second in Melee.. that's incredible.

I personally hope Brawl is as different to Melee as Melee was to 64.
Melee's an excellent game, easily one of my all-time favorites, but I'd like Brawl to be a new experience and have Melee remain a unique classic in its own right worth continuing to play.
If Brawl was going to be too similar, I probably would stop playing Melee, but judging from the footage we've seen so far that seems quite unlikely. Regardless, assuming it's a good game I expect Brawl will command most of my attention for a fair while following its release.

Vyse - If the long-time players can play this game while knowing it like the back of their hands....then Brawl will be a breath of fresh air not a nail in the coffin - Id thought that would be obvious. At any rate you have a better chance of getting more vets back than losing them. Any further discussion will be left to Cats.

Hey dudes,

I've decided to buy my new TV early (will be a 29" 4:3 CRT) this Thursday so I can be useful to you guys. That's BEFORE CoA2. So providing my deal goes ahead you can count on one more TV+cube. I'll let you know on Thursday if I succeed (they need to have stock).

The deal is this, if I make top 8 (or top 16, whatever happens), then Mikul will buy my lunch. It's funny enough that I'm in top 10 at the ranbats, when I only really play Street Fighter, so I'm going to go all out in CoA2, I'm even going to practice smash (OMG).

CAOTIC - Almost tournament time! Remember to bring lots and lots of equipment guys - tvs cubes ssbm, etc. Also, extra powerboards and extensions cables would be great if you can't supply anything else! :):):)

the venue has lots of space, tables and chairs, so noone has to do anything there.

Seemed pretty straight-forward to me.

I'm still coming, it's just that I'll probably also bring my Physics and Bio stuff to study any chance I get while I'm there. Which probably won't be many.... but still. Friendly TV's (if any are available) will probably always be taken by Freddo, Mark, Mikul and other people, so actually, most times between matches should be good =P. Furthermore, my Falco will be ridiculously out of practice, so now will I not only not have any mind-game skill, I'll have no consistent tech-skill, either. Expect some epic rage sooner or later in the day xD.
