What you do, is press the combination of buttons to do the pound attack (Forward+B). When you either:
A) See the attack beginning
B) See the blue shine on Jigglypuff's body
then you tilt the analog stick at either a diagonal up+forward or diagonal down+forward. If you did it correctly, then you should have been able to do the rising pound.

do i swing the control stick up or do i just tilt it?
well just do pound and slide it up. Kinda pretend your playing lets say....guilty gear. just basically after pound half circle up.
just pound and do a quarter circle up right after you do a pound. so pound then quarter circle up all in one movement. even though you dont have to slide it up that high

how important is this technique and how often is it used

It's very important for JP's recovery and it's used a lot, especially where JP's jumps can't save her from being KOed (like below Final Destination)

you dont HAVE to slide it up, its just easier for some people. you can do forward b and then bring it back to neutral and then push it up, but its pointless and alot harder because of the speed required.

Don't Worry.. it's not that useful anyway ;)

I was wondering if its possible to use another attack with the interuptable frames to keep from losing altitude inbetween pounds? As it stands I keep losing signifigant hieght after the pound in lag befor the next one. I can jump, but that wastes it. I want to be able to loose the minimum ammount of height.

if u do it correctly, i dont think u would lose height at all. (correct me if im wrong)

Yeah, you don't loose any hieght, and if you jump afterwards it gives you almost the equivilant of a double jump in height but I want to gain hieght without having to exicute the jump after the pound.
i dont think that is possible. I kinda think of pound as a weak smash attack. Depending on what you do you can direct the punch in a certain angle depending on what angle you press it at. Like how samus can punch at 315 degrees instead of at 0

i pretty sure you can't gain height witout jumping, because if you could, you would have an infinite recovery.:psycho:

You can pretty much infinitly stall though..

I guess I will be happy with that. If I can get the infinate recovery to work (if its possible) I will post back on here, with instructions

You cannot get an inifinite recovery (as in if your below the edge and only use rising pound or any other move besides jump), the most you can gain from spamming rising pound is an even stance as the lag before she will puff again drops you slightly no matter how fast you do it. If you perfect it however as ChosenOne said you can practically stall the match infinitely. The only way you gain height with the rising pound is if you jump immediately before and/or immediately afterwards.

But why would you... It's like infinting the peach bomber >_<
Maybe in teams.. but other than not so much..

I Didnt know about sliding the stick up as soon as the attack starts, isnt it starting at a slightly higher position than dead right/left to begin with, meaning you dont really have to move the stick slightly up everytime.
the way i do it is to just smash the stick at a slightly higher angle.

Infinite pound stall is near impossible. Takes too much concentration to be perfect and still maintain distance from the opponent on most stages.
