Problem with repeated waveshining

Ok, I've been practising repeated waveshining, and I've tried it on all the characters the shine guide says it's possible to do it to. (bowser, samus, sheik, zelda, peach, link, captain falcon, ganon, donkey kong, and yoshi). However, the only character I can get close enough to shine again right away is Link. I can repeatedly waveshine Yoshi, DK, Shiek, and Zelda aswell, but I have to take a step before I can actually do another shine. I don't know if they have time to attack or not, but in training mode the "consecutive hits' thing stays on 1 with them, so I assume they can. I can't even reach any of the others with a single wavedash, I have to do two.

Is this normal? I watched a couple of Zelgadis combo videos, and he seemed to be able to repeatedly waveshine Peach, Gannondorf, Captain Falcon, and Samus with just one wavedash.

What could I be doing wrong? Are tractions different in the PAL version or something?

I have v1.2 of the game.

Peach? Peach is the same as Link, practically. In fact, I think she's easier to waveshine than Link, because I can do Fox's Infinite Drillshine Combo on Peach across Final Destination, and I find it harder to get it on a Link. Try Peach again, you must be doing something wrong if Link is the only one you can waveshine perfectly.

As for the other characters, you need to wavedash far, with the control stick as close to horizontal as possible. If that's not it, then you must be slow in wavedashing out of the shine. Do it as fast as you can. I can waveshine Samus, Shiek, and Zelda making the training mode counter go up, but I don't remember whether or not I have to take a step or not. I haven't tried waveshining Bowser, or any other characters you listed. I have, however, tried to waveshine Marth. Haven't been able to get it. I got one drillshine repeat on him, but that's about it. I saw MoFo repeatedly drillshine Marth on Final Destination so I thought waveshining would be possible too. But I haven't been able to.

But seriously, try waveshining Peach again. She's as easy, if not easier, than Link.

Well Link, Peach and Zelda are very easy to reach, even with a single wavedash. Now for the other characters you need to do a perfect wavedash (pressing the stick horizontally when wavedashing) and walk a little bit to catch them again. Keep practicing until you get it.

Actually, when I was fight sastopher, he DIed some of my shines so well, he would actually fall to the ground like fox and falco do, lol. Zero FX knows what hes talking about though, listen to him. not that dalal doesnt, i just didnt read his speech. :)

Peach and Zelda should be going the exact same distance, which is very slightly farther than Link. Characters also have varying stances when shined, so how easy it is to drillshine a character doesn't always directly correlate to how easily they can be waveshined.

all i have to say is just practice more. i used to think it was hard, but now i'm not too bad with it because i practiced a lot
