upb sideb attacker...help!

hi, i have a problem with a fox of my friends, he is a noob. enough said. anyways, he nos no advanced techniques but often attacks with an upb or sideb. i can 4 stock him but this move gets me really pissed off. i try to attack him before he uses the attack but i get hit a lot of the time. being a doc i no i can cape him but that doesn't solve my problem. so my question is what attacks can go through a upb side b. i no lots can but specifically which ones? if i wasn't a doc?

If he is using Up+B and Side+B to attack, it should be pretty easy to predict them and punish accordingly, especially since there's a huge startup lag for both of those moves. Let me give you a small list of tactics you can employ so that you attack him and you don't get hit in the process.

He Uses His Firefox or Illusion (You Are in the Air):
- A correctly timed Bair with Doc will completely cancel out the firefox and illusion both
- A Uair with Doc is good for interrupting these moves if he is above you
- I don't know much about Doc but, a pill? Will that cancel out the firefox?

He Uses His Firefox or Illusion (You Are Grounded):
- Roll back or Shield Wavedash back just a little bit and then shield-grab the Fox (then chaingrab)
- Just properly time a U-Smash (or F-Smash or D-Smash if he is coming from the side)

That's all I can really think of with Doc. Pretty much any aerial attack can cancel out a Firefox or Illusion, so keep that in mind. Also, if you just wavedash randomly across the course, you can wait for him to illusion or firefox. When you see him startup the illusion, immediately smash towards him (or down-smash). If you timed it right, you'll hit him. Since you were wavedashing, you were able to perform the standing move when you wanted to. Grabs are probably the easiest though. Since the illusion lags so much after it's finished and the firefox bounces if you go into the ground.

lol trouble with up b and side b hahaa. I say f around with him play a ledge game and see if he illusions of the edge or like ff's and bounces off so u can edguard. Just roll like a ***** when u see the start up no point of going all out on someone like that.

I pill won't cancel the FireFox, but it'll stop the illusion right in it's tracks.

I recommend just cape spamming the FireFox's. Not to look noob, just to piss him off. Dish out a bit of his own medicine.

i think marios fireball will stop fox's up-b when hes doing it along the ground. USEFUL i must say...if he up-bs and side-bs. talk soooo much $#!+ that he wont wanna do it anymore, LOL.

if you can time it right, spot dodge would work too.

if you really want to make things annoying, use marth or roy and counter it.

The over-b's hit box is behind them. You can attack in the other direction and still manage to hit them before they hit you with it, lol.
