I think pkmvodka is the best trashtalker.

When I read the boards I want to punch him in the face, then in real life he's a good guy.

I think we should look back to Damax's venue if the Toronto venue is under renovations? 30 TV's is a lot of TV's, and it WAS a pretty sick venue. I also highly doubt there would be housing issues.

I don't think it's that difficult to get downtown from the venue either. 1 bus right in front of the place, and take the metro. Or drive there.

Now, the big issue is costs for West Coast. Are there ways of helping them? Maybe raise a pool for the West coasters? Maybe they can arrive in Toronto and return to Toronto and have NNR or something lift them?

I don't want to impose anything, nor do I want to mess anything up. But if Toronto's current venue is under renovations, I think we should take action to find a more reliable place, regardless of the city.

Church should be done renovating soon.

Yeah this tournament is only taking place in 2007. Any renovations would be done by then.

It seems we have different options for this. I guess any possible candidates for hosting this should get their **** in order, figure out everything, and put forward their offer. Then the majority can vote, with the choices of WC players weighing more heavily.

A proposal doesnt mean possibilities of having a place. This would mean that you'd have the place for sure, and that the contracts have been read 10 times over etc.

I repeat my offer: 10 am to 10 pm, 200 $ + taxes per day (might get discount for 2 days)

Owners says he has over 30 tv and could lend us some or all
Unlimited Water!!!
Fast food in front of the tournament's location
Mc do at about 5 minute drive (its not close cause you can't really go by feet)
Pizza restaurant at about 1-2 minute drive.

I know the owner, I worked for him. bam now work for him. he told me it was illegal to do tournaments but didn't care/bother as long as we agree that he has totally nothing to do with what happens inside the room (and doesn't know it).

I can house like 8 people, PKM prolly at least 4. I don't know about the others (Bam, vwin, jih)

lol...

Why is it illegal to host tournaments? that doesnt make any sense to me.

Many many places are stuffy about having any sort of financial activity in their place without it ending up in their pockets. My theory.

I already said that I could host about 5 person

Actually its like a money game so basically you'd need 18 and up or parents authorisation. Then It is not registred and you do not pay the taxes you would normally have to pay.

A tournament's illegal damax? Why is that?

Actually it is if we make people pay to enter it.

Then the $5 entrance could be a "donation" and the prize could be a "surprise gift" for those who win?

Since so many people usualy ask at the registration table: " how much it is " it is enough to know it wasn't a donation and nowadays cams and voice recorders are in most room we can rent except maybe a few creepy church.

also just the fact that you sit at a table waiting for people to come and give cash is self explanatory, I doubt donations would be incoming that quickly.

usually when we rent a room they have no rights or time to watch/listen anything that is recorded except if trouble has been detected: illegal acts, drug selling, furniture bashing, etc... Rumors might be enough for them to watch. They usuallly have someone to stand watch from afar. Last time it was that good looking girl that was bringing us water.

For a few smiles, she was also giving out blow jobs. (I don't trust people from Blainville/Ste-Thérèse, so I only had a hand job. You people and your diseases..)

How much extra would it cost to fly to montreal rather than Toronto?

And "donations" are a very bad idea.

Damax
10-11-2006, 12:29 PM
I thought montreal would cost less due to less aerial traffic than Toronto. Just as inn rooms...

Rimi
10-11-2006, 12:54 PM
Its possible that because of the air control traffic it would cost less, but in reality it might be slightly higher because of the extra distance travelled, distance = gas, and gas = money.

If I think about it, I think I am the closest to Pearson Airport here. >_>

I am pretty sure I can get to the Airport faster than going to a smasher's house close to me.

I thought about that factor too. but I estimate Montreal's number of tourist waaaay smaller than Toronto. I wonder if the extra taxe comes in consideration.

Oh I mean donating money to get around a possible conflict with the contract, not fundraising for you guys.

Who wants this to be a multi-day tournament and if so, how many days and if so what days and if so, does the summer vaction help?

If it's going to be during the spring, one of the March Break weekends is probably best since most smash players are high schoolers. If it's going to be during the summer, summer vacation is definitely the best time to have it (but be careful not to conflict with the next FC :) )

March break sounds good.

However, I've booked my local community hall for May 5th to host the annual Edmonton tournament in May and I was hoping some BC guys would make an effort to come. This seems less of a possibility with this in march.

Oh well.

Lanowen

Summer is still a possibility, but it seems like everyone kinda wants it in March right now.

Multi-day or not?

Damax

Blunted_object10
10-19-2006, 11:19 PM
acctually i change my mind SUMMER IS WAY better since apparently High school in Ontario have a different time when spring break happens then B.C. does anyways dont know about Alberta...

If its in the SUmmer i assume more people would able to come so therefore.. W.C. vs E.C. will happen for sure NO JOHNS! since its Summer!

Hitsugaya
10-19-2006, 11:25 PM
Yeah Summer seems to be better. I don't think I even get a March break and if I do it will be different from highschool's break. I think it should be a 2 day tourney.

Carl I might be interested.
