Short Hop To Fast Fall Not working?

For some reason when actually attacking with my neautral A (mainly) or some other fox attack while in the air, i cant fast fall unless I do the attack before hiting the opponent. How do you fast fall AFTER hiting the opponent?

You must be trying to fall as you hit them with your attack. There's hit lag each time you hit them, so you have to wait a tiny moment before you can do anything. Thats all there is to it. :)

you have to tap down directly AFTER you hit the ariel...

as silent wolf says you have short amount of lag as you hit the move but you can be fairly hasty in fastfalling... try it.

Thanks guys fo your help. But to bhe honest its so hard to tell if i'm even fast falling at all with fox unless i do it befoer I attack. But the thing is I need to know if i'm fast falling because if I dont then someone can shield grab me before i shine, especially when i do the drill kicks.
