View Full Version : b up question...
My friend's main is fox and he really enjoys doing the b up move to me, but not as a get back on the stage move.... but like he jumps in air n does it in my direction... so to my question, i never see any pro fox videos where they use it as a ground or arieal atack but it dosent seem like such a terible move? i'm just wondoring why no pros use the move as more then a get back on stage move

because it sucks; quite simply
for a start; your opponent practically gets a free hit with the huge hang time of about 1.4 secs (alot)...
...then any half concerned smasher would sheildgrab or counter the move with a higher priority attack...
please tell your "friend" to quit it as its degrading for both you and him...

Burn! LOL
hes right though, its terrible, thats why no one uses it, lol. major start up lag, not much damage, easy target, etc.

Tom, the firefox is not a good attacking move mainly because of the startup lag and linear path. If someone is close to you, they will be able to take advantage of the startup lag by using some sort of aerial or other attack. Because of the linear path, the opponent can predict where you'll land, and, since the Fox can't change his path while in the firefox, the opponent will be waiting there to smash.

Also, if you know theyre gonna go towards you, you can dash out of it's range, dash cancel fsmash, lol.

It's useful for...recovery...Fox stalls...and well, that's it really. The firefox has minimal knockback if it even connects, you lose your aerial mobility, and like everyone else has said, you're bound to get yourself hurt if you try to attack with it. Some people can smash or even shine you right out of it as you recover, so there's nothing safe about the move.

Yo It sucks. One reason is too slow and it gives your opponent time to dodge it or even land a hit.Example um tell your friend to try that against a marth and you will see that he will get foward smash lol.Dont understamet marths range also tell your friend to learn the shine combos. Also try the dash to up smash combo with fox or falco.
i can easily dodge it.. n some times durring the start up i can hit him but it just goes to far.. oh well i'll tell him its not good lol
