Ok i think everyone agreed that SQUAT 3 was a success. But i was wondering if we could have some feedback on the day so we can make some changes for SQUAT 4.

If you could please give everyone your opinion on:

Venue
Prize Money
Organisation (on the day how did everyone go did you get to play enough matches were the rules clear etc...)


Umm and any thing else you liked/disliked/think could use improving etc.

Everything was pretty much as good as it gets.

Air condition would be nice.

Also it might be hard but ATTENDANCE. More players would make it so much more exciting but we all know how hard it is....

Ok, IMO their should be a change with the way prize money works.

Some people did not like the way doubles and singles had a fee.. so my idea is to..

Just make it say, $10 upfront for turning up (hire fee and friendlies), and $2.50 per event.

this way, $2.5 does not seem like a high fee for entering singles and doubles, but still maintains the system of pay based on s3. So all that changes, is that people do have an option of not entering any events, yet still assists with the room hire, but its in their best interest to do so for the price.

Yeah i think that 2.50 is way to little.

I don't see whats wrong with a fee for doubles and a separate fee for singles. You should have to pay to enter teams and singles separately. At SQUAT 3 you didn't have to enter teams if you didn't want to no one was forcing people to pay the $5 to enter. If by 'some people don't like that there was a fee for singles and for doubles' you meant they felt like they were paying more well they aren't because if we made it one fee for the entire tourney it would have been $15 so people would be paying the same amount but they wouldn't have had an option to enter teams or not.

If we had 20 people there each paying 2.50 the prize money would be like 35 15 7 or something like that. Not much at all...

I think we should make a serious decision about the prize money. Do we REALLY want prize money or not?

If not then we'll just split the hiring costs between all people who attends.

If we do want prize money then we can start thinking about raising the entry price to make the prize pot a respectable amount at least.

So, where does everyone stand on prize money? Yes or no? Anyone who says "I don't care" you count as a no. My vote Yes.

The initial $10 is divided between the 2 events as well as cost.

I liked the way SQUAT3 turned out, venue was good and I didn't paying for entry to the events. but like you guys have said, if we did have more attendance everything would be better.

Why do you want to change it? No one complained about the system, therefore it's perfectly fine the way it is, and turns out to be $15 dollars per entry, if he enters both events anyways; it also results to a way lower prize money. Which is very stupid.

As for the "Yes or No to prize money" issue. Would you rather have money and title of number 1 2 or 3 in QLD, or just the title itself? I'm pretty **** sure everyone wants money along with bragging rights

But it was quite low, I mean, 3rd didn't even get the entry fee back. So, it was 1st, 2nd or nothing.

I don't think we NEED Prize money. The bragging rights to winning are enough for me, but you guys might think differently.

Well the reason it was so low is because we took the cost of the hall out of the prize money. If everyone wanted decent prize money we could pay for the hall then have prize money on top of that.

For example at SQUAT 3 everyone would have had to pay $6.50 for the hall. Then 10 for singles and 5 for teams. The prize pot for singles would have been in the vacinity of $150 if it was done this way.

$20 covers the venue, plus food, entry to the tourny and the incredible fun times after the tournament. :chuckle:
