I am consistently getting burned when trying to shine fox/falco off the stage. I jump to shine where he is going to go and everytime I just get burned back onto the stage.
Also are you supposed to see your shield when you wavedash, cause I see mine in between successful dashes which are few and far between.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To shine the firefox/firebird you need to practice. Just try making the shine inside the flames.
No when you wavedash you are not supposed to have your shield up. To prevent this, just let go of L/R faster.

that's called waveshielding, and shining fox when he releases his charge works better imo, but you need more practice for that and precise aim

just keep practicing. maybe try playing adifferent character than fox to start with, he is one of (if not THE) hardest characters to master (or even play good for that matter)

Yea I thought about switching characters. I was going to go to luigi cause he is supposedly the easiest, but Fox is my original one. I put to much work into him.
I feel this is one of those, "Easy to learn, difficult to master" type things.

to shine fox and falco you have to shine before they are moving and the edge of the shine should touch them. and no your wave dashes should not have sheilds sticking out you are holding the sheild to long.

Shining a falco should be no problem if you can get to him before the attack takes off. His flames do no damage so get as close as you need shine away. Shining a Fox this way is a little different. I always try to get above and let the bottom of the shine hit Fox in the face. To shine them when they are moving, position yourself so that the edge of the shine goes through the flame. Just practise it a little. Go into training mode and knock a fox off the edge and shine it as it comes beack on the field.
As stated above just release the R/L botton earlier when wave dashing.
I also suggest that you at least try out other characters, expecially when learning to wave dash.
