So i was watching some king vids. and he seems to rest at unexpected times. any secret to this im missing? or is it like he knows when each characters attack lag times are and he times it? thats what i thought it was. one time i did notice though his when people run grab him he'll crouch, rest them, is there anyother time he does it specifically? haha you could make a list? lol. yeah..

King seems to have somewhat perfected Rest. I notice he uses it whenever he sees a decent opening like if someone is coming down from an aerial recovery or if Sheik turns to Zelda. I notice the crouch thing too which is really smart of him. Thats why hes the King of Joggs, hes smart with her.

King is a fiend. That's all I got. He has alot of great rest combos, and can rest you out of a roll or tech or anything, plus if you use anything with any lag at all. So I guess no secret, except learn your rest combos and practice.

lol, is there like any specific times for characters. like, shieks down b, bowser's down b, likee any moves on the top of your head that has lag, mainly for characters like fox, falco, shiek, peach would be helpful =)

You noobs, King cheats duh!

Rofl there's no secret to his rests, he does it when he can and since he's really a precise player it's easy for him to hit with it a majority of the time.

Lol you guys still haven't seen the yet unamed king rest combo at LOW LOW LOW PERCENTAGES!!

Mindgames.. and he has good timing... Kish did it during the FC3 crews, and I'm sure he does it all the time... Magus does it.. Anden is Anden.. he just kinda does what he does.. KillaOR hit that Sick rest again in the FC3 crews.. and ChozenOne does it. All it takes is Technical skill; which alot of Jigglys lack, which is why they pick her up... and Mindgames.

Good Day Sirs.

Nintendoking's right, you know.

I created a whole-new Rest Combo, forged from the foul lavas of Jigglypuff's Core.

Only two people have ever experienced it first-hand. One of them was the famous Scamp, founder of Dave's Stupid Rule. The other was JBlaze during MLG Orlando.

I'll divulge the technique soon enough, once I've acheived enough confidence in my execution of it.

P.S.-And as far as the topic goes, the more time and effort i've placed into developing my combos, the less I've been relying on Rest to win matches. It's fallen back more towards my own little trump card that i'll start using if I truly need it to keep a match close/in my favor. And since the things i hate most about jigglypuff are 1.) when you land a rest and it doesn't kill them, and 2.) when you miss a ress and get your *** handed to you on a platter, I really only attempt rests when: 1.) I'm certain it would kill them, 2.) when i'm certain i wouldn't be giving too much away if they respawn fast enough to kill me while asleep, 3.) When I'm certain I can truly combo into it, and 4.) when i'm certain about where they're techrolling or where they're going to be, and if taking that opportunity will out-right win me the match.

All things considered, though, I'd rather be doing big combos instead. :chuckle:

That's pretty much the difference between King's and my styles.

<_<

I'd rather land a spectacular rest than win a match...lawl.

King's rests are too good. I remember the game winning one against CJ's Sheik. That was intenseeee.

Tech rolls suck haha.

King Wins.

Rest is great, but I just can't abuse it, knowing that I'll get owned if I try. I will use it once in a while, and FFA Resting is so cruel...

lol...after consulting with Marcus, I have to say I've been working on that one for 4-5 months and it's very difficult to pull off in-match. Of course I could be completely wrong about what it is...

This secret technique sounds like the five point palm exploding palm technique for us jigg players so I hope it is shown soon. Hmm it really is getting me pumped. Oh and chozen thanks for bringing civility to the internet.

Wow, this is what I find is happening to me! I used to be able to pull off rests atleast 19 out of 20 times, now after working on my combos too much it's more like 7/15. Oh well, I can land good combos now atleast.

When working with fast characters my stradegy is usually combo'ing, when working with slow/heavy characters i tend to do more setups for Rest. And when im working with people with weak recoverys like Ness or C.Falcon my stradegy is to usually knock them off the side, and keep them off. So fer Jiggs i usually tend to mix it up depending on my opponents.
