Help with Luigis Combos!!!

Ok so i play fox and my friend plays luigi.

All he does is sidestep (dodge down) then keep spamming smash down a

once he grabs me he just throw down and keep spamming down a till i fly so high i could jump out of it or i fall off. then he smash left right a.

how do i counter this?? i tried nair then shine throw up uair.

need help plz!!!!

There's a section in there on how to fight a Luigi, but I think you should read on the physics of Fox first. And if you still can't beat Luigi with Fox, then try Falcon or Falco or something. I'm also a Fox player, and I have trouble fighting peaches, so I use Ganon and do alot better. Knowning your character advantages can do wonders. I got that from the guide that I linked to. Srsly, read it.

I actually need help with luigis too. I know that upthrow is not the best option, because before you catch up with him to hit him again, he interrupts you with a neutral aerial. Oh and try shinespiking since he goes pretty far.

this is a tough one, tho once u become more experienced in this situation, imo, then u should be able to counter it with no trouble. ive actually never faced a noob ( tell ur friend im sry) that has actually does this but i would test my luck and fsmash with fox. since fox's fsmash is greater in range then luigi's dsmash, right?

for the dthrow u said he spams down? do u mean chain throw? well id just move far enough so his fsmash wont reach me and then do some air attack on him if i can pull off my SH.

im not sure which attack has a greater range, foxs fsmash or luigis dsmash. but all he does is simply roll away or dodge down then dsmash me to oblivion


ps... for everyone out there, my gamecube got taken away so now all i have is my orange controller :'(

try waiting for the dodge, or since he sidesteps all your attacks, obviously you should punish him for his mistakes, and wait for him to make a move, if he wont approach, laser spam. usmash out of sheild works wonders too.

I've been capable of uairs my friend's Luigi over three times. I think if you have perfect spacing you can nail him. It's very difficult to avoid getting hit, though.

thats why if they hit you or try to, you double jump and dont attack to get them to, so you can strike after them. punishment. or, uthrow, dash away a bit and bair them in place of uair if you have to so you can avoid their attack, most of the time.

too hard to waveshine luigi and even harder to spike him since he just floats back up the stage

bair is good but somehow my friends timing with his karate chop fair is awesome...
