View Full Version : Up-B edgehog?

I was recently watching a video and I saw someone Up-B on the ground and move while doing so off the edge to edgehog. It worked in a similar way to WDing backwards off the edge to edgehog. Does this actually work? And if so, how do you do it (move while Up-B on the ground)?

Run towards the edge and with full momentum hit up B the trillisecond you're about to run off the edge.

jump cancel a run into an upB... just DI towards the stage so you don't upB off the edge

Don't miss, you will die.
Practice on a stage like Battlefield off the platforms, and get good at it, it is extremely fun to knock someone away with it.

If you want to be really flashy, you can also do it while moonwalking :)

Moonwalk spinhog is flashy but is never useful. If your back is facing the edge you might as well just WD off. The spinhog itself is useful as a mindgame and as an edgehog (it is faster then turning around and WDing if you are already facing the edge).

Spin hog is impractical because Link's spin attack doesn't hit below the ledge, meaning the entire attack would be only for looks, OR being on the edge would be of no advantage to you.
I admit I've done it when i played Link, but only against NuBs, because if you mess up you die...

Do I have to do it right before I go off the stage? Because I tried it in the middle of a dash and it was a stationary up-B. Or do I have to jump cancel it or dash cancel it?
